So a couple of questions:
a) How does he get it home? Can you book that onto the flight as excess baggage?
b) What on Earth do you do with a huge bright orange circle once you get it home?

Chuck it on the Team bus and they get it back to the service course (if the bus is there).
From there it's easier to ship it to the rider.

Who was it that won a 200 piece jigsaw puzzle? Was it Van Gils on stage 1 of the Ruta del Sol? That also has to be up there.

Did I write peace instead of piece? And is it now a mod task to correct typos (or whatever that was)?

You wrote 'one' instead of 'won': I edited it without drawing attention to it to help you save face, especially with RhD's enthusiasm for correcting you, but you sort of blew the subtlety of it away. (Full disclosure: first time I had edited without leaving a record of having done so, won't do it again)

The original tower (Torre Gorgot) is part of the Salvador Dali museum in Figueres, and the whole building is decorated with eggs as they are ubiquitous in his work. I think it's unlikely to be a cake.

Nor was it designed by Dali himself, though.

So... now I know of two cases where a TdF stage winner got a cow, and with several decades between.

Someone - or several someones - has a very strange sense of humour.

If Hoban or Rolf Sørensen had raced the Aussie Gravel Championships (if it had existed at the time and they had either switched allegiance or been allowed to race anyway, like when Cromwell herself unofficially won the European Championships), they could have brought home something to cook their cattle in (or fry, more likely).

Like how both you and @awavey posted the same photo.
