Why would I underestimate Alberto

Froome is a great time trialist, Alberto is "just" good.

Based on one time trial where he beat Evans but got thrashed by Wiggins? Alberto has showed infinitely more in time trials than Froome.

contador will wipe the floor with froome, what has froome done to prove he is anywhere near a contador or andy in top form on the mountains?

Nothing, but we also haven't seen that he's not "anywhere near" Contador or Andy in top form. All we've seen is potential. And that potential makes me very eager to see what he can do as captain of a strong team against the abovementioned.

That's unbelievably idiotic. Adding a stage with potential for riders to waste energy or even get hurt, and it doesn't even ****ing count? Wtf?

Good, now the sponsors will have their publicity and the race won't be ruined because of a stupid team time trial... Best of both worlds.

Sure Froome will have the Tour in his legs, but up to this point he's been riding it as apposed to racing it. He'll have plenty left. Alberto to have a slow comeback a la Basso, wonder how he'll do against Valverde tho?

Lol, so basically your saying Alberto should be happy to match Valverde? Facepalm.

If Froome beats a well rested Contador, then I will join the pitchfork wielding clinic crowd.

AC will win by miles :D

While this does somewhat create a duplicate poll on the Vuelta, I'm hoping that by adding a poll, it might add some fun to the head-to-head, Contador vs. Froome debate.

Didn't change anything else. Just added a poll to the thread (and changed the title), that's all.

Froome, even without the Tour and Olympics in his legs, could not hold the chamois of Alberto Contador. Add those two factors PLUS Contador's rage for his suspension and I see a 2011 Giro size gap (6'41"+) between Contador (1st) and whoever finishes (2nd).
