Have people really been wishing for that to happen? If so, that’s pathetic.
Of course other riders should wait if a rider is assaulted. It should go without saying whatever your views about things like mechanicals that a rider getting hit by some clown is not a racing incident.
He's my dark horse contender, but he should probably be nearer 50-1. A potential for top 5 but I think he's unproven over three weeks. Quite likely to win a stage or two.del1962 said:Anyway what do people think of Roglic's chances, got a one pound bet on him and 23-1, seemed like good odds, not expecting him to win, but if an outsider did it would probably be him

You've just given Sky the ultimate idea to win that Tour...
Let's fake an incident involving a spectator a day Froome is suffering. Easy to do. And it'll annihilate any attempts to race by other riders because it would be 'unfair' as you (kind of righlty) say.
So basically the one that would like an incident like this to happen is Sky. Good to help Froome if needed. And good anyways for their image of poor little victims.
That's why I find the idea dangerous of anyone that would like to assault Froome. If not already dumb* enough of its own in the first place, such an idea would only play the Sky agenda.
However, I have to disagree on the point you mentioned that riders should wait if something had to happen as a general rule. It shouldn't be taken as a general rule because each situation is particular but also because it's just way too easy to fake the race that way. If Sky knows the riders are gonna stop anyways, it is just giving them a free card to use that situation (and we all know that Sky is using ALL the ways they can find to win, so why not that one)

I think it's more an possibility this could happen and if it does many wouldn't exactly be surprised.

Would be interested to hear your views on why everything you've written in this post is only potentially relevant to Sky, and not every single other team in the peloton.

Well maybe Froome did think it was piss, whether that was true or not, but that doesn't make it lying.Beobachter said:spalco said:It's a completely crackpot theory though.
Is it? Really?
It's very likely they lied about the piss supposedly thrown on Froome, sooo...
(It's not that I'm saying they're gonna do that but just that they could use that situation to their advantage)

Chris the running man part two ? Those sorts of incidents are rare. More chance of Froome being mocked by a road runner as Contador was by people with fake needles and surgeon's masks. Hopefully there are no belligerent drunks wandering onto the road although these days it's usually fans taking selfies that forget where they are or people watching the camera bike and not the riders.
Yes :razz:Koronin said:RedheadDane said:Hmm... I think I'm missing something. Is there a link to the full article somewhere? Not just the tweet.
This. I'd also like a link to the full article.
Is someone going to inform Contador he's coming out of retirement to race?

Such a poor understanding of cycling I have to wonder if this was written by some intern who indeed just took last years preview and copied it for a big part![]()
