Yes, I remember a quote of Bassons back in this time, saying the only ones who understood him and he could still talk to being the soigneurs of JD and particularly Gabrovski amongst the riders.

you know where heard this or maybe can find?

Dare I say it, but a killer mountain like that needs a 15km ITT to make for a balanced race.
It blew the whole thing into bits.

Surprised how great the tv production was. It was actually brilliant.

Yeah, production has been good for a while at this race. Even their website's great, probably one of the best if not the best race websites out there

He (Gabrovski) was on the verge of riding the Tour but got kicked out after a falling out with the team leader (in 2001).

Columbia Coldeports are an utter shambles, you would think they should dominate the stage instead they were horrible Duarte was pushing far to big a gear very slowly

Someone drug test that fool! Finally makes a breakthrough at 34 beating pro tour riders by 1:30, that was utterly ridiculous sorry, the Bulgarian Pantani and definitely in more ways than one. Dyachenko isnt a great climber but 1:30 is ridiculous

ivailo-gabrovski.jpg

congrats to the balkan friends, that was pretty much an attack like in the good old days,he caught the motorbikes and put them to shame.a strong man of the old times winning is always good.average speed around 22 km/h on such a hard climb is goddish.colombians still have a lot to learn.until then, the balkan fuel and the big heart is too much for them
also dyachenko and antonov were great gotta say.
vino finding the form slowly i hope.
a great day of cycling that was,now let's go to switzerland
