any idea if the x4 cpu issues will be fixed in 11'?
2010 was so freakin buggy for me, pretty much the only game I have ever had a problem with on my pc.

anyone play this online? I tried it once (09') didn't like it much.
They made a priority of making the game far more stable so. It definately should be. Last year was the 1st year with the new engine, that always goes with a lot of bumps.

They did a lot of effort to fix the memory and cpu issues.
But we'll have to wait for the release to know for sure ofcourse :p

yeah I gathered as much, lower budget projects are bound to have some flaws, hopefully it goes according to plan.

Anyone else miss the older versions where you actually make bids on riders under contract? T'was fun. Another issue I dislike about PCM is after 2 seasons, sometimes even one teams look insane (so many transfers).

ya in 2004 after buying bikes and stuff you would be almost bankrupt then you would need to perform amazingly well not go bankrupt during the season and have some saved money for the October-January period =/

One day we shall make a competition (TdF?) with cycnews forum posters around the world. I never played it on the www. It must be fun.

Thats cool and a lot of fun - but hard to realize.
More players means more fun, but also getting harder to make a compromise when its about date and best time.

But we can try of course. :D

I played online sometimes, but fun looks different. Often there are problems regarding the game, connection, ping, or the players themselfes.
Internet is full of strange people and silly behavior, you know. ;)

A little bit unrelated, but it's worth mentioning that Cyanide is releasing a game called Tour de France 2011 for XBOX360 and Playstation 3.

It's a completely new game, so it's not related to the previous XBOX Arcade and PSP games.

PCM.daily revealed a bunch of details about the game a couple of days ago: http://pcmdaily.com/news.php?readmore=639

There's also a few screenshots out - they are quite old, though: http://pcmdaily.com/photogallery.php?album_id=42&rowstart=12 (screens marked with "console")

Wow, the famous Crue True himself :D

yep 2004 was horrible :p you'd win every single race by attacking at 15 km to go in the flat :p and 50 km in a mountain stage :p
and still you'd go bankrupt (with TLEKOM the richest team of all :p )

I remember the older versions. Where you could get into a breakaway, then put one of your other riders at the head of the peloton, put effort at 1 and watch the whole peloton slow down and if you waited long enough taken out of the race because they were out of the time limit. Finishing the Tour with 10 riders was tons of fun.

So if we play online, we should play the TdF or Giro. And Dekker Tifosi is the manager.

What i wonder is what happens if some players miss a stage.

So then the AI should be set like when you play alone, right?

Otherwise it would be ok if players missing the stage, getting penalized.

All we need is 20 players, a manager, and a time table, right?

20 players? Even on the big forums they do games of 10 players, and if there are more than 10 than split up into two groups.

Because with 20 players you really get less than optimal gameplay (eg lag and such) or you'd need a super, super-good host with a superb internet connection (especially upload) and super specifications (so the pc will hold).

And you would have to be lucky to even get 10 players to be able to come together at the same time.
Trust me I have experience with these things.

I must admit I'm not much of an online player myself. (only used to be good at track racing in pcm 08 and pcm 09 haha) I'm too used to playing against AI and AI are predictable. Humans are not :D But it is loads of fun.

Pff his fame is overrated.

I'm at least as famous and as long around as him in Cycling Manager circles. I'm just called different on this forum.
:p

But you are not plakker I guess.
The PCM god from the Netherlands. :D

I'll have a look at PCMdaily and then have a guess. You should be easy to indentify.

my signature here should give me away already.

Go look at the cyclingnews reader polls of 2004/2005 and see who finished there in the mtb competition.
That were PCM community members who voted for me as a joke :D

I even translated the game to Dutch in 2003. Been in the 'database' team a few years back also
Which brings me to my final point I created databases and reelased them from Cycling Manager 2 (2002) up till PCM 2009 myself and then worked with some PCM Daily projects to do the stats of the riders. Also made 1 historic 2000 DB for PCM 2006 aside from normal db's.

Now you should have an idea

Ah Ruben. :D I remember a db with that name, and know that your name is ruben, but never made the connection.

Any imformation if the manager-part will be improved ?
It really needs the next step, or just something new. It's so...usual.
One thing for sure: The programming of startingfields in career need an improvement. Thats for sure.
Perhaps it depends on the pcm.daily. I don't know.

But I am always dissapointed about that. You look forward to Giro or Tour, then you watch the startingfield on first stage, and they are just strange and weak.

Didn't Cyanide have a version of your name or something related to your name as "sponsor" that teams could get in PCM1 or 2(2005 and 2006 versions of the game). I know who you are from the Cyanide/PPDB forums.

exactly that. i still had plenty of fun. but the financial and game part was just so flawed.

Took me a while to really get used to the game, never used training camps. I play on hard and best gt result 2nd at the tour with Cadel. I eventually heard about the "doping" camps and decided to give them a go and won the giro with cadel by 8 minutes so avoided it since.

I would be interested in a CN-game but I'd have to get a copy (Parrulo...) of the game again and get back into it. I was playing a lot last year, but I think I was playing on the default difficulty setting.

I don't know if it was mentioned but there's this program or patch or something which helps you manage the training schedules and race programmes of all your riders, so you can make sure they peak in time for all races. I loved this! I recommend you find it also.

Hahaha, that was in there until PCM 2009 I think. Ruben Spam & co sponsor
I was very active as member on cyanide forums so they did that as a joke/gift.
