Yeah definitely , The canyon CF SLX IS 780 grms " is it a true aero bike though? " What wheels you use ,cockpit etc all comes into play you know that KB. The climbers riding bikes around the 700grms can basically chuck on what they want. Sky's old dogma was really quite heavy for a pro bike and Froome was using 700grm [ pair] ax lightness wheels at one point.

As a point I remember selling my old caad 5 my first road bike so I could buy my Trek. I wish I kept that Caad 5. I should have saved up a bit longer.

Good to see you thinking about a lighter bike ;)

Heres the CF

The new water proof Rapha Kit developed with Sky and yet they are going to part ways

I really like it and if I had the dosh I would fancy a piece of this Rapha kit.

When I was in Nice I went past a couple of Sky riders [ they were soft pedalling]
They both had the lighter blue training kit on . I prefer it .

Nah, not true aero with that tubeset, I'm just surprised that riders might have to choose between aero and weight. I can understand other choices like position etc.

Hahaha, as I'm sure you realise the lightness is more due to wanting better steel than less weight. It just happens to be that better steel is lighter steel. :)

The Canyon CF SLX is the all-round/climbing model not the aero Canyon model.

Your rights its not the full aero model but canyon still call it the [from their website] Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Aero . I would have thought using the word "Aero " implies it is a aero bike but like I said does it count as a true aero bike? I don't understand why they called it aero when they have "true" aero models like below

Indeed one of the ten ultimate cf slx setups is called aero, the only difference I can see that would warrent this is the deep dish wheels. Maybe a marketing ploy to appeal to aero weanies, even though they have the aero frame as well.

Your right frenchfry it seems to be about the wheels.
I much prefer the older frame . I really don't dig the head tube /stem set up. Similar to the new Venge.

I much prefer this style Canyon

Kittels got one now . Not digging these bikes at all now. Cav made his one look ok. It looks better proportioned in the smaller size and with the slammed stem .

Its been mentioned on more than one occasion . The cable routing is bonkers
Cav had brake issues on his last year.
One of the poster's on the WW site has bought one. They should apparently supply a free mechanic with every purchase .

A mis-step by Spesh. These will not sell. Just too damn ugly when compared to the BMC, Scott and Canyon machines. The Cervelo is no better.

Dan Martins new bike . Is it me or does the frame look extra long?
Nice carbon hubs. I had carbon hubs on my Topolino wheels , they cracked twice.
