Odd choice of entertainment in this show. These guys are all clearly talented, but this is not really what I'd call "American-style" entertainment. More Cirque du Soleil stuff.

We are not in america but this show is produced in Luxembourg which is in the middle of Europe, that's why I prefer Cirque du soleil stuff

WTF? Is this a new trend? National jersey shouldn't be discreet at all.

If you have a tricolor Jersey already, it should be extra simple make a national.

Klemme always looks a bit creepy IMO

Overall, not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. I thought it was going to be much longer with many more speeches of all kinds of sponsors and ministers and so on. The show acts weren't bad, I especially liked the trick rider. The female speaker was a bit awkward at times, but I liked the other guy.

All in all I'm glad we got this over with and we can now focus on "true racing" and forget all this PR stuff.

I guess it's pretty exciting times for you Christian, coming from such a small nation and being right at the sharp end of things in cycling, now with "your own" team? Green with envy :D

I still can't take this team seriously. For starters, it's called Leopard. It doesn't even have a main sponsor. And if that wasn't enough, it seems to be just a bunch of buddies who set up their own private club so that they could hang out and have fun times together and just slack off without a nosy boss bothering them.

You're right it's exciting but at the same time I wish they would have done some things differently and hadn't made such a big deal about everything. Also while it is true that we are, historically, a cycling nation, it is completely over-hyped right now, and once the Schlecks are gone it will quiet down a lot. It will probably one day burst like the German cycling bubble.
It'll be exciting to follow them though and I hope to see more Luxembourgers there next year.

Hopefully Scotland will get its own PT-Team soon ;)

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, living somewhere where I wasn't born. I'm Dutch, so I'm not exactly badly served, but from a "pure" Dutch perspective it has been a bit of a dry spell of late. Hopefully our tide is turning though. With TGBM and all.

But like you say, you need some luck to keep getting the riders at top level, and then it becomes a numbers game where Luxembourg has drawn a shorter straw than most. It can be a frustratingly long wait once the glory is gone. "We" Dutchies know, especially those that remember the 70s/80s well. Hasn't been all bad since, but not exactly "orange" either. Just enjoy it whilst you can!

I find it funny all of the people calling for a Luxembourg Tri-Colour kit over this one.... I think the whole idea that this was going to be a pseudo-nationalistic team was conceived and propegated by the fans and media....I thought the team made it quite clear from the beginning that this was simply a pro team based in Luxemboug, and not a Luxembourg Team! ...Astana is a different story since its actually sponsored by the government of Kazakstan!...Now if the team had been called 'Team Luxembourg City'...

Lol considering that for the longest time it was called "Luxembourg Pro Cycling Project" I think it is quite understandeable though.

Plus today the minister of sports held a speech, the future Grand Duke Guillaume was there, the Schlecks and Cancellara met with Prime Minister Juncker and gave him a shirt ...

Also it is not exactly true that the State doesn't sponsor the team. Indirectly it does - the State is the biggest shareholder (roughly 35%) of Enovos, one of the major sponsors; and then again one of the major shareholders of Arcelor, which is the second biggest shareholder of Enovos. So it's all connected, even though it's not quite as obvious as in Kazakhstan

well what a pile of tosh that presentation was. What was with zebra man and the hoop, and random cycling man. And the kit makes them look like sweets.
