Forecast for Fayetteville is for it to be bone dry all week including this coming weekend. Only mud will be if they intentionally create some.

Interesting. Maybe it leaves the mens field a little bit more open? Elite women, bone dry sounds like a clear win for Vos.

Anna Kay out with concussion following her pre race crash on Sunday. And now both Betsema (fever, not Covid) and Worst (Covid) are also out. And a few Italians as well. One has to say, it's all falling apart.....

Sad. And to think they were afraid of getting Covid in the USA.

That's a bit crap to see Worst and Betsema out. After Brand/Vos they were the most likely contenders. Wonder can Alvarado step up. Any word on which race Vas is doing?

Vas has been classed as an Elite since the Euros I think - and will race the Elite race. However, I do wonder whether she'll remain an U23 in the MTB World Cup.

Alvaredo looked really close to her best a few races ago but then has seemed off the pace in the past few races so don’t know what’s going on there.

She totally did. First lap, first climb! She really needs to step up to the u23 ranks to find some competition.
She was planning on competing as an elite for the British Nationals, but then caught covid.

Pretty much expected results on the podium. I was expecting more from the US riders and also Holmgren, but it was a good battle behind for fourth with Maclean Howell close to catching Molengraaf.

That was a fun race and a superb result for the Belgians. Imagine if Verstrynge had caught his teammate back... Would he have been cruel enough to sprint?

Very exciting race. Impressive control and ride by Wyseure. Well earned. Mees Hendrix looked strong but had to do way too much work on a course that definitely favored drafting - normally not a big factor in CX racing - so tough on him.

Front left (sorry, I don't know whether that is Bramati or Persico) is either related to Worf from Star Trek or needs to readjust the tightness of her helmet. It was even more evident on the TV interview.

It's Persico, but I think she had fixed the issue yesterday, cause it looked less apparent on the podium afterwards.

Hats off to Vos who lectured Brand in road racing tactics. Clearly Brand was stronger but had no real plan for breaking Vos. In fact maybe there was no such plan that could have been devised. Vos is the Boss!

Junior men. That’s a wow. The Swiss rider went down, came back, showed off a couple of wheelies, tried to break away, pulled his full share, sprinted too early but nipped it in the three man sprint. Great spirit. Well done!
