Tomorrow's course recon
PS: Whatever happened to Puck's companions? All in Spain?

At one point she says "Danny, on a road bike". Pretty sure that was Danny van Lierop, who is on the start list, and often featured in her course recon videos in previous seasons.

Elsewhere, I must have missed it, but Rafaelle Carrier (winner from a pretty sparse field in today's junior race) is signed in some capacity with Arkea - B&B Hotels. She's listed as a "trainee from 01/08", whatever that means.

It means she'll be a stagiaire in the fall, like Wolff and Ferguson were with their teams last year. It was a bit of a surprise that it was already announced back in November, but I guess they were thinking they had to act quickly. She hasn't raced in Europe on the road yet, but it will be interesting how she does in the junior Nations Cup races, if she takes part in them this year.

Not a lot on her road resume other than some pretty anonymous placings in the junior categories at nationals last year. I'd assume she'll continue to focus on MTB this summer (#2 ranked junior last year with another season left to compete in that category).

Funny that the only time Iserbyt didn't dump his bike on the floor in the pit exchange was when we didn't have anyone behind him.

Still, I was pulling for him against Wout.
Isn’t there a rule about how many steps you can take in the pit without a bike?
Iserbyt was running a looooong way between handing off (dropping?) his bike and picking up a new one…

Iserbyt managed to pass WvA by taking the inside line in the corners. Wout just rode right by him on the straights, à la pédale.

What's the new nickname for the Pauwels team? Fruity sauces or saucy fruits?

Tomorrow will be a mud feast. Rain mostly all day. So we will probably see a lot of running.
Far from my favourite course, but it's a pity MVDP is absent, would be interesting if it's really muddy today.
That swamp of a race four? Years ago when WvA won by amost three minutes was a classic demonstration of how to ride and run away from the rest of the worlds best,
