I don't think the big names are taking this sport seriously anymore. And how could they, when can just come at any point in the season and beat everyone who's racing year round.
Do you mean on just on the men's side or both men's and women's?

Team Ridley (Nieuwenhuis, Orts) could merge with Pauwels Sauzen (Vantourenhout)
they both have the same bike sponsor
Iserbyt will be off the races for months

Blanka Vas not on the startlist for Tabor. Must be a mistake, right?
Hmm, I've not seen any news regarding her, although she has not raced since the europeans. Hope it's not something stupid like her federation failing to enter her.
On a different note good to see six American women entered and two Canadians.

I imagine MvdP is in no hurry to race CX when he can live and train in warm Spain. Let's face it, he'd be bored to death racing CX against the current crop of racers. No one currently racing has made a step up in form to challenge him and make it fun for him to race. He'll show up around Christmas time because he had to come in to see the family for the holidays and pick up some start money to buy some Christmas gifts.

I don't think there's anybody out there (possibly apart from Wout on a mudfest), and none of the U23s look likely to in the coming years. I was hoping Nys had made a step up, but if he has, it's not enough - he needs to be beating the others by 30secs/ minute. I'm not sure he has the raw power, but is better on less flat courses.

Pogi was Slovenian national cx champion a few years back. Ddin't he say he was looking for new challenges?
