I hope Riberolle was just emotional after the DSQ because that looked similar to someone having a concussion.

Brand's almost perfect season gets her another rainbow jersey. Not exactly a smooth race for anyone.

Based on the replay showing the situation before the ended up by that pole, it could look like she "just" shut down mentally after being told she had been DSQed.

And if it actually is a concussion - because of a crash that wasn't caught on tape - then I hope someone has rather bad taste in their mouth. She wasn't actually supposed to be in the race at that point...

(Even emotionally, it might have been kinder if she'd been told in the pit... so she could have been lead away quietly. Both to vent, but also to get a lecture about pushing people.)

Hey Samu, I frequently see DSQ used here on the forum, but in my (pretty long) life I have only heard and used DQ. Google (USA) says the same except for in golf DSQ is used. Maybe a nationality thing?

Anyway, yeh, I hope that she didn't hurt her brain!

EDIT: RedheadDane used it too so...

In this case it was probably mainly a result of them displaying it as a DSQ on screen and in the official results, because they prefer three letter abbreviations even though it doesn't really make sense here.

The French are 2 for 2 for great starts and silver medals. Let's see if Fouquenet will do the same it if she can actually hold on to the lead/come back from behind to win. I doubt it.

Great win for Dockx.
Just the opposite for Fouquenet -- poor start and then during Lap 1 a Dutch rider closed down her attempt to pass and catch up.

Wasn't just closed her down - she just rode right across her to block her......Pretty poor riding.
Yeah, that was unnecessary by Manon Bakker... who rode an impressive race otherwise. Not that much worse than Fouquenet in the end.

Puck has had one good weekend this season and the rest was just all crashes and mistakes on decisive moments. Alvarado rode a perfect race but just doesn't have the watts. Lucinda Brand was back to her usual self, and then these women just don't have the power she has. Van Empel does, but alas.

Yes, I imagine everyone who saw that knew the DSQ was coming, even MNR herself. The seccond entirely avoidable DSQ after Viazzi dropping his bike too early - didn't the pit crew think to yell at him to go back and carry it to the exchange point?
That one was unbelievable! How does someone progress to the point where he is representing a major cycling nation at World Championships and not know the most basic of rules? Or maybe he was channeling Chris Froome on Mt. Ventoux?
