The alternative/optimistic view is that they were on more or less the same level. The 2022 Giro was even duller. I did enjoy 2021, despite Remco's flameout. It didn't deliver because Thomas, Roglic and Almeida are boring.
And Carlton Kirby yarns about bars he's visited and hotels he's stayed at.I'll be honest, I mostly watch the Giro for the scenery, so if I get a couple of compelling stages I'm happy.
The thing is, if you put such a hard time trial in the end, riders tend to save energy and not take risk in the stages before that last decicive time trial. That often leads to unattractive racing, which we could see in the stages before the time trial in last years giro. So if one good day is enough for you in a GT, I don't know why we would need GT's at all. A one day race could already cover that!
It's true what you said, but now @Gargamel35 and @Elos Anjos will get mad, because they can't handle the true.It didn't deliver because Thomas, Roglic and Almeida are boring.
I guess we live rent free in your tiny brains. It's true what you said, but now @Gargamel35 and @Elos Anjos will get mad, because they can't handle the true.

Tour de France TT 2024 is way easier then the Giro TT 23, but yes I would have preffered, that there would be at least one not GC day between the last mountain stage and the last TT in the TDF 24.So basically what you are saying is Tour 2024 will be boring? And for example Vuelta 2022 was then fantastic, due to easy third week. Riders not saving any energy for that.
Or i guess there is just more to it then that.

Your vuelta example is a bit misreading in this context, I didn´t write that the whole last week should be easy, I just said, that not the last GC stage should be the hardest climb of the whole race and especially not as a TT.
If Pog wanted, WVA would be buried alive in that climbPoor Van Aert.

Dunno.
Normally I'd say oh this makes it harder and better, but at the same time it changes the nature of the route quite a bit and I think it being stage 1 with the leaders jersey on the line it probably affected season planning a bit too so I do think it's just bad to change the first stage at this point in the year.
