Ekimov is right up there with Lance and Bruyneel in my books. Major, major enforcer of ometra undoubtedly. Wasn't he the first guy to spit at Simeoni when he was caught in that Tour stage?

Yes, along with a (future) client of Ferrari Pippo '**** tats' Pozzato

Finally..from Nicolas Roche (surprising but good on him) the LIFETIME BAN. The answer to all this doping.

The way I read it it seems like Maxime Bouet and Brice Feillu want lifetime bans, not Roche:

His teammate Maxime Bouet, as well as Saur-Sojasun's Brice Feillu meanwhile want to see doping suspensions raised to life-time bans for "substances like EPO or similar."

This entire thing boils down to tactics. Does anybody have video of Lance using? no.

Please. Youtube has a few bluetrain videos up with Phil and Paul and the cat amongst the pigeons and all that.

And then there's the fundamental problem of impossible Watts/Kilos ratios during one race, maybe two a year???

The "A Team' telling remarkably similar doping stories that fit together, tightly. Hein, Wonderboy, and Stapleton over at CSE can't even come up with stories that fit together regarding hundreds of thousands of dollars in disappearing payments.

Who needs to see the guy doing transfusions when you've got that and damning blood profiles? Wait, don't tell me it's a conspiracy! Spiked blood profiles!

A bizarre, wild interview by ekimov about armstrong affair…. (source: sport-express)

May be someone stepped on someone’s toes? May be a revenge for old grudges?

Speaking of which, how is it possible that the man who spat in Simeoni's face is going to have a managerial role in a WorldTour team?

Is the Katusha team car just going to just roll along with the rest of the peloton as if nothing has happened?

Riis, Vino, Eki ... no.

On paper looks good indeed - but how is he going to balance his statement & personal position with the past of his new ex-doper employer??

the bare minimum?

Oscar has always been one of my favorite riders. I don't think he was high on the doping suspect list. Correct me if I'm wrong.
He didn't say a whole lot there but he never was a very outspoken guy, so not surprising.

Why would Roche support tougher 4 year bans ? I cant see anything suspicious in that...doesnt matter if Ferrari was DS of his new team.

AS I understand it, Roche Jr and Roche Sr have clashed several times because Roche Sr thinks Roche Jr should "prepare better" - did Roche Sr not suggest Riis?...

Well, contrary to the whitewashing currently in vogue in the peloton, he said cycling isn't clean.

“I have earned the respect and am respectful of others. I am not one of those who think ill of others in the system,” he said. “What happens is that there is a lot of hypocrisy in the bunch. Many who complained of others, have tested positive or were involved in relationships with physicians.

Oh my

I wonder if there was payback for what he stands in the WC few weeks back...

"None of my teammates were with me then," Freire said outside the Spanish team bus. "What was agreed was to ride for me in the last lap. We haven't raced well."

Can you please point to anyone who has said cycling is clean?

In fact Freire trots out the exact same line that many do yet so many refuse to believe.

"People think all cyclists do the same and that is not the case. The controls are much more comprehensive now, things are better,” he said.

I see nothing particularly special about Freire's word and after all, he did ride for Katusha and Rabobank;)

Agh, Oscarito. Just like in his racing hay days, its all comes down to that last second sneak attack :D

He's retired and has all his trophies so he can say what he wants. Of course CN has to toss in that last sentence, makes me wonder if they're the ones coining that look to the future not the past phrase

Not sure if this has already been posted, but here's Jens Voigt talking: http://bicycling.com/blogs/hardlyserious/2012/10/30/turbulent-times/
He's confident, that's for sure.

"
And to avoid the impression that I don’t want talk about the past, or want hide my past, here I am saying very loudly: Keep my samples, test them, and re-test them, in 10 years or in 100 years from now. Go back in time and open my sample from five years ago or 10 years ago. Feel free to do so! There will never be any surprises because I have nothing to hide."

Yeah, definitely confident. I find it hard to believe, but the stuff that makes it almost believable for me is what he says about his wife/son. Just from knowing his personality he seems like the kind of guy who would find those things very important. Hmm...

Jens rode with known dopers, for doping directors. Even if we assume, that he’s clean – I don’t buy, that he saw and knew nothing.

Sorry, Jens, try again.

Another thing is his talk about friends and soulmates. On the other hand he laments about lost chances due to the doping of others. Man, this guy will have a lot to discuss with himself …
