i wanted to see how boomcie's worst forum members thread panned out.

could have been hilarious.

Yeah I was going to mention that here, that would have been gold.

I'm not even sure if it would have been such a disastrous thread. Getting things out in the open is often not the worst thing to do. I feel like there's quite a lot of bottled frustration going around on this forum.

What's wrong with disliking people? My "fondness" of a certain user is well documented. Not sure how a formal statement in a designated thread is going to do harm.

It could work if done in the right way, ie as a way of taking the micky out of someone, rather as a chance to kick somebody while they are down and turning it into a slanging match.

Remember that Python sketch about the professors in an Australian university's philosophy department and their fear that their new 'pommy' colleague might be a '****ter'? Well, it's even funnier now that I realize it wasn't that much of an exaggeration.

So are you calling me homophobic? Well done tool. The fact that from statistics I have read that there are around 0.5% to 5% of people are homosexual so it is reasonable to assume that most of those people would be male and heterosexual based on the percentage of males on this forum as well.

You did say that that it:

You mean you have never tested positive for D_T hate ?

I have not :).
I don't hate anyone around here. I prefer the word "dislike". Do I dislike Dekker_T? Possibly. ;)

And.......? I did find it a little creepy.

It's not creepy.
Though I wouldn't call you homophobic, I don't like that word. I'd call you heterosexist. You don't find having pictures of girls on bikes creepy, do you?

So I will put it this way, is it odd for a man who is attracted to women to have pictures of other men whose genitalia is clearly visible? It is less creepy for a heterosexual male to have a picture of girls (even though I don't have any) because it is the gender they are attracted to. Not remotely heterosexist. This debate can continue elsewhere if it must....

This discussion will stop right now or all such references will be deleted.

So if I want them to be deleted I have to join the discussion?

No, not now that you have given yourself away. I would think -- speaking hypothetically, of course -- that deliberately disobeying a mod's instruction and purposedly posting something so that other users postings would be deleted would entail a suspension.

A nice long one.

But I'm sure it won't come to that, will it?

In an effort to contribute to the forum, I've been tossing around some ideas for forum threads. Here's a list of some that will never see the light of day. Feel free to add your own rejected ideas.

Great post for thinking outside the box! Reminds me of this (no poo intended)...

Nah, you now me. Obedient as hell.

But seriously, a nice long one? That's harsh. :)

as the late great damiano would say, give hate a chance.

Anyway I agree no point of hating someone on a forum, but a bit of controversy would be sweet. ;)

nothing has been deleted, all the posts that have cause controversy are still there.

I like the idea of giving out poster awards at the end of the year through a thread if it didn't cross a certain line and was only for taking the **** out of each other.

It wouldn't be fair.

Most hilarious, most intelligent, presumably the greatest looking, fans favorite would all be an obvious winner, the magnificent TLR ;)

also i meant what zam wrote

Reason: you know that is not acceptable

There was a moron of the year thread last year. Originally created by ACF directed at riders and managers.

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=11495

I, probably childishly named a few forum members (including ACF as a joke) and it turned into a thread about forum members too.

Towards the end I included a list of top 10 moronic posters (giving myself the number 1 spot) towards which ACF hilariously replied that I should "add myself to that list", hence solidifying his spot as the real moron of the year.

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?p=396028#post396028
(your fav poster is at number 6 btw).

Anyway point is, based on last year, I am sure you will be given leeway to turn this years moron of the year thread to one about Dekker Tifosi;)

This really let me thinking.
1. "A-Z How to steal someone hot bike thread" (you know tools, how long it should take etc)

2. "Let s laugh and make jerk of forum non first English language user thread"
( grammar, speling, werbs etc)

3. "Jews and Muslims only jokes thread" (Rabin, Mula, food funny jokes)

4. "Me naked picture thread" (I would start first if problem):D

Mods should really consider one of those:eek:

Daotecs thread on cyclist fatalities creeped me out like nothing else, even more than men on machines and most of the threads on the bikes and gear forum.(mainly because I have no idea what anybody is talking about.)
