I remember watching a video of Tyler Hamilton (I think it was him but don't quote me on that) speaking at Oxford and he discussed the biggest signs of doping and unsurprisingly the main sign is a guy coming from nowhere to win the biggest races in the world. That isn't Remco and that isn't Pog. They've won every big race at every stage of their career. They aren't the results of some sudden transformation when they signed with a big team. They also don't hide all year at altitude camps and then descend and win the Tour. They race all year. I am not saying either is clean. But they seem a lot more likely to be clean than some others.

Sure, I'll have some of whatever you're on. If anything you'd think that the few riders who defy all logic in an era (which may now be coming to an end) of high specialisation would be more suspect.

I think Froome's "transformation" was much less severe and sudden than Vingegaard's. Plus let's be real, Froome never beat anyone like Pog. Granted you're talking about Remco. I agree of course on that too. Remco has been great at every level. I don't see much of a transformation with him, more like a progression. He, like Pog, has been a champion at every level.
Froome's was more severe. That's all I'll say about it in the Remco thread :)

We had so many Giro and Vuelta winners who can't even ride top 3 in Le Tour. Evenepoel will be no exception.

Be interesting to see if he can pull this off, having previously shown no pedigree in stage races harder than Algarve.

I'll add I do think Remco's statement that Pog is still the best rider in the world after Ving's Tour win is interesting. Remco might be the key to Pog's Tour strategy. Remco might be the key to breaking Jumbo's train of destruction approach at the Tour. I can just imagine Remco and Pog dancing away from everyone. Now if only the temperatures would cooperate.
If Vingo shows up with this year's form they'll both be crushed. He virtually matched every attack by Pogacar. The stronger team was just a bonus.

This is a joke, right?

More likely? Sure, anyone is more likely than Froome. But not at all likely. I'd be stunned if either of them were clean.

What it is, is more tolerable. At least these guys are actual talents and not some clown who found the magic potion and went from the transfer portal to world beater.

This is a joke, right?
There was this one Spanish guy, can't recall his name. Seemed to have beaten Armstrong at one point. Who WAS that guy...?

Wolfpack discovered a right Panoramix portion that works for Remco in GT? After a few spectacular failures he looks really impressive now.

If he storms this Vuelta, let's see how he does in the Tour against Vingo, Pog and a fitter Rog.

I don't pretend to know whose clean and who isn't or what legal method someone is doing that might one day be banned. Like everyone else, certain things raise my eyebrows, If you think a guy who is good all year is more suspect than a guy who is only good in July, power to you but I disagree. I am much more suspect of a guy who has one, super strong peak and then looks rather ordinary all year. Whose right? Who knows.

I don't disagree-- Vingo's Tour was the most impressive I've seen in this era of cycling. If he maintains that level, with that team behind him, they're all racing for second.

Out of all the top performers right now, Vingo gives me the most peculiar vibe. Everything just feels a bit different with him than the other stars. I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns out to be the flash in the pan of the bunch, or ends up retiring while still in his prime. Just a feeling.

I do agree his ultra specific peak for the Tour comes across as more egregious than being strong for several months, not that the latter is innocent either.

There's also more than one way to go about it. Valverde's been the best example of a rider who's competitive all year for a long time, but his peaks have rarely been this high. You also can't even try to pretend he's clean.

"It's the vibe" is a perfect summation of most of the rubbish being posted in this thread. If this was anyone other than Remco people would be losing their minds, but he's a special boy.
