I don't think we should talk about Bernal being a revelation of 2018, he already is a revelation

Here are 3 riders to look out for

Dunbar
Kamna
Lawless

2018, next year, I'd be curious to see how Cosnefroy develops...he showed some Boonen-like qualities in late '17.

Boudat, Haig, Schachmann, R.Zabel, P.Bevin, O.Doull,
Also Stefan De Bod, Alex Edmondson and Piet Allegaert.

Keukeleire to win a significant classic (doesn't have to be a monument) as a breakthrough.
Agree with the Oomen comments too!

bernal will win the giro
He'll be 21. I imagine he'll ride the Giro or Vuelta, but not as leader. I'm not gonna make predictions about his level before the spring.

Bernal winning or even podiumming GT would be crazy. On the other hand, Andy Schleck managed to finish 2nd in the Giro before he turned 22 so it's not completely impossible. If I were a Team Sky manager, I wouldn't let Bernal ride for GC in a GT before 2019, though.

Crazy to think how good Schleck was. And he's younger than Froome. I miss that guy.

He certainly was. That makes it even more impressive that Bernal has shown a lot more promise at this age than Andy had at the same age. In fact, who was the last climber to produce as good results as Bernal at the age of 20?

No idea. I do find it hard to intepret his results outside of the WT this year as he's mostly been pummeling very weak fields and I'm not sure that was very useful for him. Tirreno and Lombardia were definitely impressive, as was Gaudu in Catalunya, Fleche and Torino

Still, a big step from the bottom end of the top 10 in mountain stages all the way to the top.

Kreuziger and Dekker come to mind.

I'm somewhat confident André Looij will have a good future. My only qualification for talent-spotting is that I thought Dylan Groenewegen would be good back in 2012 - though I can't prove that since I didn't say so on this forum.

My only qualification for talent-spotting is that I thought in 2011 that Lachlan Morton would be a GT podium material. I don't think I should try hyping anyone again anytime soon.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Teuns yet.

I think he's already been revealed. After all; winning three UCI stage races in just 21 days is pretty impressive. Froome can only win one stage race in that amount of time. :p

Personally I don't have any talent-spotting abilities. Unless you count the fact that I started a thread for Mads P. after his Tour of Norway stage win way back in May last year...

I wonder how many times I have to be remebered that I can't read titles....

You thought it was for riders who have been revealed this year? I see... yeah. He's been pretty truly revealed.

I see. I was pretty confused there for a moment, like What more does he want that guy to do in order to be considered "revealed"?
Personally I also tend to take the "revelation" part a bit too literally; taking it to mean someone no one has ever heard of before, but I guess that would make threads such as this somewhat difficult...

I can prove that for myself because I was the only person who picked Groenewegen in the CQ Ranking game in 2013.

Talk about talent spotting. I still remember the raging discussion about who would be better between Robert Gesink and Vincenzo Nibali.
