This ain't new. Years ago Bernie Kohl said he was confident that the entire top 10 were positive. He thought it was bizarre that only four guys went down when he believed most of the peloton was on CERA.

do they do a normal IQ test as part of the health checks at the pre-race medicos, or just take the hematocrit.

if they dont take the urine for a full spec test, there is no way they could test the entire top ten.

i dont know the protocol off hand? top 3 on the stage plus 2 random? plus the 3 jersey holders. likely you will only test about 7 or 8 of the final GC. i know the podium in paris of all jersey are tested.

Who gives a **** about the riders who used the 30 mcg vial when guys like Kohl and Schumi played with the 360 mcg vial. Why going after the cleaner guys ?

Why not go after both?

Oh, you read the leaflet but unfortunately didn't understand what it says. There is no such 360 mcg vial. 360 mcg reflects the starting dose for a typical renal patient, compared to a regular 16,000IU/wk dose Epoetin Alpha/beta.

Again, you weren't able to use more CERA than other EPO variants, it was (appeared...) just much more convenient with just one shot every two weeks and no detection risk.

Don't forget Kohl confessed using Cera PLUS blood bags...

Not Rasmussen, it was DynEPO
Judging by the results of the Giro that year, it was pretty obvious Di Luca, Ricco, Piepoli and Simoni had something the other were missing (Garzelli, Cunego)

In the Tour I don't know, maybe Contador, but behind him and chicken, the others were more believable than in the Giro

Ricco told a french magazine (l'acheteur cycliste) a year ago that a dozen of riders were positive for CERA (not 48), and a french guy among them (Moreau ? I would love that)

The thing with CERA was that as soon as it was detectable, it was useless. It was more or less a synthesised version of EPO, but because it stayed in your system for so long, it was far more risky than first gen EPO, or Darbo, or DynEPO that had come out in the interim. Therefore, what we should really consider is suspicious DNFs or gaps in racing from 2008-9 as well.

There is clean and the rest are the dopers. Dopers are not measured by vials.

Could someone explain how Ricco would have knowledge of these 48 tests without it having come out through another source

He claims that:

...one of the four riders who had been revealed as testing positive during the race had, by mistake, been sent to their home address a list of the 48 names of all those testing positive.

I have to admit, it doesn't sound all that far-fetched to me. This is, after all, pro cycling we're talking about.

If the story is true, or if for any reason whatsoever he actually does possess such a list, I can think of one, very easy way for him to confirm it.

The list wasn't only sent to Ricco by 'mistake'.

The names are out there. Others are in possession.

Be interesting to see where they leak to next.

As believable as any others at this point.

Far fetched, maybe, but is there a chance ricco confused early rumours about positives from the 1998 tour with the 2008 one. 44 positives to be revealed. 44+ the 4 already tested positive = 48= the number of positives ricco claims were found.
