Hopefully Carapz can bounce back and win a stage....his fall from grace today was spectacular

So happy to to see his attacking approach to this race pay off with a well deserved stage victory; as you say, for a mere mortal it's hard to beat a maillot jaune and a stage win! Hopefully he can carry this form to something special later this season.

Finally gets his Tour win and has looked good on some stages. If he goes to the Vuelta I wonder if he’ll try GC or go for the KoM again.

KoM at the Vuelta is really not that big of a deal. It would be a waste of talent for him to make this his primary goal. He's not Omar Fraile, Davide Villella or Geoffrey Bouchard.

Just has to keep it and hope Pogacar doesn’t get within 4 points. It was a good win for him that Pog didn’t go for the 8 on offer as well to get closer.

Understandably less mentioned at the time, but when Tadej took yellow from Primoz on Planche des Belles Filles, he also took the polka dots from Ineos’ Richard Carapaz. So very happy to see that come full circle today.

Carapaz sucked in that TT (PdBF) when he was expected to do well because of the climb. I never heard an explanation of what happened for him—end of Tour exhaustion, poor pacing, sickness? Or just jour sans?

Two more mountain stages for Richie. He seems to be ready to attack and fight for podium or even more.

I honestly thought he was kind of done as GC rider, but for now he has proven me wrong, and I'm happy about that. I just like that guy and his racing.

Excellent performance today. Took back 20secs in addition to the stage win. Very fitting after a less than stellar TT performance. Chapeau.

What a great cyclist, always races for the win. Sometimes he paces himself badly with Alaphilippe style attacks, but this time it worked out.
