did Gerry and Jayco even provide the motorhome? Does motoman drive the bus?

I can imagine what Uniballer and Dr. 52x13 say seeing this: yep, trailers, it's our boy. Does it have a hidden freezer? But in the end, it's understandable, as in the new clean era of biopass it's not enough to have just the usual rest day shot, one needs "treatment" more often to level the levels and avoid these "suspicious" drops .

Gotta love Brailsfraud

If Richie pulls this off motor home sales will rocket as teams will have to add them to their list...
Pineapple juice, no Nutella, warm downs, motor home for each rider, no desserts, bla bla

So much for team spirit and team bonding when Richard says to the boys "fcuk this shítty motel I'm off to my 5* camper"

When it comes to the tour will "Froomey" be sharing his motor home with Richard?

I'm certain this "motor home" is equipped with an "Hypoxic altitude tent", so Richie can keep "making gains while sleeping"- that's the SKY way
clever :D
that would have the additional advantage of rendering all blood samples they take from him during the giro useless for the BP.

Aren't altitude tents illegal in Italy?

I remember Rod had to dump all of his after mentioning them in an interview by accident a few years ago.

Revolting. Since when do you try something so dramatically different in a race with a team leader in a race you want to win?

So if you were running Team Sky you would continue doing the same old thing with Porte for GT's? I don't think it was working.

The opposite of "don't do something new in a race" is not "never do anything new" / "do the same old thing". That's illogical.

Let me break it down for you: you test new food / drink / shoes / equipment, etc, etc, in training. Prove that it works and improves something. Or at the very least does not diminish something. Then you use it in a race.

Inside Team Sky is full of Walsh ranting at the doping accusations. And here we see Sky doing their utmost to appear different and draw attention and blah blah blah Ferrari used his vehicle for doping, US Postal stopped on the side of the road to do a transfusion in their van. Are you even aware of these things and the potential for suspicion this move from Sky raises?

You're suggesting trying out the motor home in training? This isn't food / drink / shoes / equipment. Should they do a three week block staying in the motor home and then do a three week block staying in different hotels every night? Isn't that a trifle silly? If they thought the reason for Porte's off days is that he wasn't resting and recovering well enough then this could help and probably won't hinder.

And yeah a team leader being isolated from the rest of the team has similarities to Armstrong, and people who have already made up their mind will enjoy desperately drawing conclusions, if it wasn't for this it would only be something else. Is there anything at all here that should trouble anyone on the fence? Really? Nope, not at all.

They could always try it our in the one week stage races before the Giro.

Yep.

Would also help them see what sort of reaction it gets, given the doping accusations that assaulted the team in 2012 / 2013. Those doping questions are going to cause more stress than any potential sleeping / rest gain the private quarters may gain them, if Walsh's book and the trouble the doping questions caused are any indication.

Good point. Suppose it is just very hard to measure how relaxed someone is. Even if Porte does now avoid the "bad day" every Giro preview has beaten us over the head with we'll never know if the motor home made any difference.

Camper, eh? I guess that'd make it awfully difficult to see who visits him or to get a sense of what he does during the evening. I'd imagine most of the rider's hotels have journalists camped in the lobby and going through the dumpsters. Also makes it fairly difficult for the Polizei to drop by unannounced... I mean, seriously. It can't be that difficult for Sky to book an incredible suite in a five star hotel that would beat the socks off a camper. I once booked a decent suite at the absolute last minute in Milan *during* the Grand Prix.

A massive branded motor home in the car park more secretive than a room in the hotel?.... I don't follow your thinking.
