Ritchie will be doing a Wigans soon, back to domestique duties for the soon to be Sir Froome.

Naah.. Froome will never receive knighthood...

I reckon they aint got the nerves to go all in on Froome...

While un-knighted he is still (should it be necessary) to be explained as the kenyan who stole a British passport...

Also it seems Sky have gotten the terrible disese called miscalculated gains...

Cav wants the knighthood, and the Olympic gold medal. Is next year Rio or Sao Paulo or Brazilia?

they dont want him on the team pursuit, but I could see Cav going full *** and slinging the selectors 1million GBP bribe. It would be worth that to him, and should get him a knighthood too.

And the Australians will be no match for the brits in the TP.

I also think the CdA of one rider, is not that bad in a TP if you have 3 other big riders. 3 other riders like Peter Kennaugh, yes, would be a problem.

But Wiggo, Clancy, Thomas (not big, but not small, and anyway, he has left the boards, Steve Burke, I still think they need one more guy like G to go 4'50". since thomas not coming back to track. G would get Wiggins, Clancy, Thomas to 4'50" and show the Australians a clean pair of wheels. no way they would threaten the mother country.

back on topic, yeah, Richie, will give up, and look to 2016 with GreenEdge. soft

Me either. I read he could run sub 30 in an Oly tri but never found any results.

Richie was merely a lifesaver at the Launceston pool until Kerrison came by in summer and said "little Richie, we will make a rider of the swimmer in you"

In my search before posting that, I was surprised to learn Porte had been a competitive swimmer. Seemed to smack of helpful coincidence given Kerrison's background.

Looks like Porte has called it a day, or spit the dummy, judging by the way he soft pedalled in on today's sprint stage, two plus more minutes behind because of that crash..... the big question... Who gets the shagging wagon now..?

Simon Clarke?

Good idea... with the face Richie pulled at the end of that stage he could end up the the shared dorm of the local ostello della gioventù....

If you look back at the TDF coverage in 2013, it seems that there was always a Sky rider near the back of the bunch especially once things started going uphill, presumably the one with the nearest bike fit to Froomedawg.

So its not like they haven't looked at this sort of thing before. Maybe no-one comes close to LRP's bike size ?

LRP. Catwhoorg has just christened little richie porte with the acronym and LRP is forever who he will be known as.

For sale one nearly new RV, barely used, one owner, blood bags and other pharmaceutical items not included. Must sell.
Contact Sir David Brailsford.

Now, that was a proper 'doing a Wigans'.

Leo Konig must be so happy he waited yesterday.
2013 when they made both Urán AND Henao drop back to guide Wiggins was worse though.

Flecha in post-race saying he thinks Porte may think about DNSing tomorrow. Would be disappointing, he could feasibly get something from this race yet. He's 10 mins down now, might even be able to escape for a stage next week with Contador no longer needing to mark him and Tinkoff needing to counter Astana's strength in numbers.

Back to the drawing board. Richie must be wondering how the Dawg does it.

back to the basics: start with the Badzilla - there are no champions without one (Uniballer's cancer, Dirtie's head... even Wiggo was at least drinking)

What I know about Richie. Is If i'm a DS or Team Owner. I'm not giving him big $ to be my Team #1. For my GT bids. I would rather develop/find my own rider. Ex: Majka, Alliphalipe, Yates, Formolo, Attipuma.

He has shown great form in 1 week races. But he will want to be paid as a GT podium rider. And to me that is a big tab for a huge question mark. Little Richie could DN's tomorrow. And beg Brailsford to let him skip the Le Tour. And gun for La Vuelta. If I'm DB and I know I'm not going to resign him anywhere near what he is going to ask for. I say NO. To the Tour you go. Dom for Froome.

If Yates and Orica give him BIG $. They will be hurting there own program.

IMHO. Could not happen to a "nicer" guy. And if I'm AC and Lil' Richie jumps for a stage win in say the last 3k. I cover it and BURY him. "Not today Richie, Not in my HOUSE!"

Yeah, that was even more famous, Henao is still suffering I think.

Even Viviani and Snow were faster today. I bet the camper experiment will not find a bis number at the Tour.

Didnt see any taping on Ritchies knee so it must be a mental thing, not suited for the job. A proper Ritchie should be faster than Conti in a TT 9 out o 10 times and certainly not four minutes down.

luckily riders do not see the races as we fans do.
