We need to come up with something for Denis Galimzyanov if he is going to keep showing himself at the front of sprints, he has way too many syllables.

Okay now we are getting somewhere, I like The Cossack.

Gali works I guess, but it's not very imaginative.

Or sometimes we just need abbreviations, like TGBM, AC or LA.

How about D&G for Galimzyanov? I can just see him swinging a ladies purse across the handlebars of his bike..... :D

Ok, this is going over my head ... is he known for being camp? Are we talking limp wrists etc?

No, not to my knowledge. Just thought his initials were funny this way...

I can never think of Indurain without wanting to prefix his name with "Singing"

I suspect it has been used of most sprinters under 5'10'', but I'm racking my brains to try to remember who I first heard labelled the "pocket rocket".

I don't have a source, but I heard the nickname "The Alien" for him.

Or, I think I did.

That's Basso.

I didn't think i had the two mixed up, but I find no sign of that name for galimzyanov on the internet. The Katusha site lists "Gali". Someone say that already?

Galimzyanov has kind of an Asian appearance... how about Genghis Khan, or Mr. G (nah that sucks).
Seeing how Galimzyanov is Tatar last name, you're not that far off.
