Always nice to see a prominent French rider strike out and give a proper shot at the Giro when it suits them better.Bit of surprise here:
Guillaume Martin will ride the giro for GC and afterwards also the tour. From a course perspective makes absolutely sense.
van Aert will probably skip Strade Bianche this year and will ride Paris-Nice instead.
Followed by Milan- San Remo, E3 Harelbeke, Gent-Wevelgem, Ronde and Roubaix. His big focus will be to win at least one out of Ronde and Roubaix.

I don't think so. Van Aert seems all in for the classics so I don't think he'll chase GC in PN. Roglic for PN, Vingegaard and Dumoulin for TA is my guess.Presumably that will mean Roglic to T-A to also avoid his French stage race crash curse.
He crashed in Tirreno as well if I remember correctly. Just before his winning streak started.Presumably that will mean Roglic to T-A to also avoid his French stage race crash curse.

It would be good if Martin rides one GT per year which is his season's focus - He spreads himself to thin with race days - He was even riding the Pozzato Italian races in Mid-October.

Seems that the field this year will be stronger than last year. I remember last year only Roglic as top dog participated.Roglic and Bernal are riding Paris-Nice.
Historically PN has always been by far the strongest and most prestigious Spring stage race but aided by the pull of Strade Bianchi TA is catching up fast.Seems that the field this year will be stronger than last year. I remember last year only Roglic as top dog participated.
Pogacar, Bernal, van Aert, Alaphilippe and van der Poel all had been in Italy.

Nice is closer to Milano than San Benedetto del Tronto is.And after TA there is MSR...
So if you are a rider that can ride well in both SB and MSR it makes more sense to ride TA than going to France and then back again.
Well the argument with MSR is like Netserk said not that big. But with SB it is.And after TA there is MSR...

Tirreno has had a better starting field than PN since forever.
2019, 2016, 2010?Yeah, going back 12 years (14 if you count Scarponi which also bridges to Cancellara), every winner has won a GT or a monument. And almost all more than one. PN winners have been super weak in comparison.
2019, 2016, 2010?
Van Abermaet won Roubaix2019, 2016, 2010?
