Disgraceful that Cummings is not in the British Olympic team, he would be a great wildcard to play and in this form a decent shot at a medal.

Neither is Yates... Yet. But yes there shouldn't be anyone connected with Sky pick in the British team. Even Brailsford said as much a few days ago.

Maybe A.Yates has signed a contract with Sky - Hence his selection.
Does Belgium have strong alternatives? Greg is Belgiums strongest rider by far and if you can win a stage like this in the tour and almost win San Sebastian, a lot can happen in Rio.Gigs_98 said:Just that in the Olympics there will probably be better climbers in the break if there is a successful break. The field is just so full of strong climbers that it's hard to believe GVA has a chance. Moreover the final climb of the olympics is clearly harder than the climbs in yesterdays stage.SafeBet said:Who's going to pull? Most teams won't even have a proper rouleur for the flat. This race could be decided 100 km from the finish if a decent break gets a gap.yaco said:Yeah - After the peleton allowed the breakaway 15 minutes - This won't happen in the Olympics RR.

Thibaut Pinot (RR+TT)
Romain Bardet (RR)
Warren Barguil (RR)
Julian Alaphilippe (RR)
One of Bardet, Barguil or Alaphilippe to do the TT too.
Reserve :
Pierre Rolland
Tony Gallopin
Alexis Vuillermoz
yaco said:That looks a shockingly unbalanced France squad - Pinot and Bardet are fine but you need a rider like Gallopin or Vichiot for support - Surely Pinot must do the TT.
I don't like it. Who's gonna ride the ITT?Rollthedice said:Italia for Rio: Nibali, Aru, De Marchi, Rosa, Caruso.
Cassani probably wasn't sure about felline's form because of the horrible crash and didn't want to change his plans at the last moment because of one great result in Poland.SafeBet said:I don't like it. Who's gonna ride the ITT?Rollthedice said:Italia for Rio: Nibali, Aru, De Marchi, Rosa, Caruso.
Besides, if you really want a diesel who can climb why not bringing Felline instead of De Marchi. He has done nothing this year.
Nibbles better bring his A-game. This team is 100% behind him.

Erviti is a fantastic pick; I'm quite surprised they went for him though. Minguez perhaps showing Unzue that it's not a good idea to go in with a team unprepared for more than half the race.Alexandre B. said:Spain
