I stand corrected. Why isn't that on his wikipedia? And why no mention in the book? haha

For some reason I thought the food poisoning was before the Vuelta started and he pulled out before the first day... my mistake, thanks for the clarification!

There is another take on the fish salad story. I'll get the link. The Sink gave an entirely different version of events.

Thats strange as Cadel didnt seem to be affected on that stage. Looking at the stage where the guys pulled out

Cadel finishes 6th so he obviously wasnt affected significantly on that day. I have wondered before why he did so poorly after that. Was he trying to work for Zabel, who with the points jersey, probably stood a better chance of winning something for the team than Evans did?

The clinic's view is that it was blood poisoning rather than food poisoning... It's often used to justify Evans' reputation.

It's interesting to see how cycling news sums it up. "Apparently some t-mobile riders were having a bout of food poisoning".
Most of team went home and and even the riders who stayed for the next stage, evans and zabel were the only people to keep up with the main group. Vino lost 13mins and SChreck lost 9mins

Every other mountain stage, evans loses huge chunks of time and most of those stages Zabel even beats him.

Vinokourov, A 50.00
Pellizotti, F 60.00
Martin, Tony 65.00
Cancellara, F 150.0
Casar, S 200.0
Moncoutié, D 200.0
Le Mevel, C 300.0

Suprised.

Imagine AC crashes and abandons or something.
1. Sastre at 45.00 is shocking, hilly course, no TTT, sole Cervelo GC leader, one of top favourites I think.
2. S Sanchez at 35.00 far behind Armstrong, Evans, Wiggins, Basso, Gesink even Rasmussen?? Not for me.
3. Kreuziger at 50.00 - must be uncertainities about Liquigas GC sharing because he really is not at the same level as Van den Broeck? And from young riders Gesink twice better chance?? No way! ;)

These are odds, not who is most likely to win. They are structured to bring in the most money for the bookies, and are heavily influenced by those who have already made bets. So people who have an excellent chance but noone knows their name will be placed out of it. People with a known name but no chance will be further up the list.
