Only hope left is that Van der Poel is somehow hurt enough that he won't pull with Pogi, but not hurt so much so that he'll get dropped (before the last Kwaremont).

Isolate Pogacar and make this a tactical war.
I see your point, but given the current caliber of riders, it won't be tactics but legs that decide this race. Also WVA wants to win. In your scenario he must be willing to allow a teammate to possible win in case Pogacar does not give chase. Then hope he can follow Pogacar, and outsprint a fatigued Pogacar (don't see WVA dropping Pogacar). Honestly sending Jorgenson up ahead won't change the outcome much imo. Maybe help chase Pogacar in case a gap opens up after a climb. that's about it rly. Or maybe i'm just thinking to negatively about WVA chances.

Hopefully next week will be a better race, as I think any scenario that doesn't have Pog murdering everyone pretty soon, is just wishful thinking. Then again, Houston beat Duke last night, and nobody thought that would happen until there were 20 seconds left.

Flanders Classics really engineered the route to ensure, that almost all the action happens on Oude Kwaremont and Paterberg, didn't they.
