SD Worx was always the favorite, with Kopecky as their main card to play. It's a pity that some of the favorites had crashes, but we still saw a good final. Kopecky didn't try to go alone, seemed to be confident in her sprint in a small group. She was the favorite, but it's never a given after a long race under pressure.

The top 4 from that group finished in an absolute inverse of my order of preference for how they should finish.

I don't think there's any means by which that would have been possible without Kopecky puncturing in the final kilometre or something, though.

And we are back to the classic "SD Worx don't work for each other, but it's ok because everybody else works for SD Worx" problem.

I was impressed with Paternoster who went hard on the Kwaremont to get in the final 4 and exploded in the last 500 metres. She could have ridden conservatively and finished in the group sprinting for 5th BUT she tried to win the race. Kudos to Paternoster.

She gave everything on the Kwaremont and found her limit. All or nothing. Without Kopecky’s acceleration she made the final cut and was racing for the first places. After all the crashes I’m happy she’s at a strong level again. She seemed stronger on the climbs than last years. A shame she was just behind the G2 group. Her endurance will get better the next years. Just hoping for a healthy pre-season for once. And do something in the Giro and/or Tour this year.

On PCS she’s on the startlist for Brabantse Pijl. Could be a good result there in this form. I’ll be riding there every day in the week of the race. Hope to see her already. And go watch the race live. Finally close to home.
