As some expected strong guys (but not Big3) attacked earlier and have a substantial gap of over 2 minutes with 60+ km to go. Difficult situation for guys from the peleton - most teams have their guy in the breakaway and seem satisfied with this situation (not MVP though). The race winner could be in this front group unless a carnage begins on Oude Kwaremont.

I'm surprised Jumbo haven't drilled it all the way to the Oude Kwaremont. With a smaller gap Pog and WVA could've sat on VDP and made him do most of the work to get to the front. Now they'll all have to give it everything if they want to win.

Jumbo haven't actually won a monument since Alaphilippe handed Roglic Liège on a silver platter. Today, we're seeing why. They immediately fumble the bag when the classics are at their biggest.

UAE and/or Jumbo shouldn't have let this gap so big with Trentin and Van Hooydonck. Keep it at a minute and see if they can follow in front. If they get dropped now uphill, you're 3min behind with Pogi.

The anticipated showdown between the "Big 3" won't happen after all... This serves them right! Very open race for the front group right now!

Wout is hurt. Only explanation.

UAE are clueless.

And Alpecin is as clueless as UAE, and don't have the manpower mainly cause of Mathieu early antics.

Go next race.
