Rujano can win this Giro, believes Savio

The thing is, apparently Gerrit Jan has blocked himself off from the Giro news and wants to know nothing until he watches the recorded stages.

Maybe for the sake of your friend's health you should break the news to him in person DT, before he watches the stages, to, you know, be safe.

Hmmm, is everyone just going to ignore how Henao is doing?

Why is that on Ryo? A lot of us hyped Henao. Id argue some of us maybe even hyped him more than Ryo who sees Henao as one of the weaker of the Colombiano ubermensch breed.

No one hyped Rujano to win every mountain stage by 2 minutes.

I would love to see Colombians lighting up the mountains like Luis Hererra but to call it the way Ryo does is to set oneself up to be lambasted when it doesn't happen.

Henao is riding fantastic for his age. Hope he top 5s. ;)

It was well known in rain and cold Rujano is horrible. Unfortunately after 2 weeks of good weather it was the case
Sorry for him than, but I wouldn't think it would be SO MUCH in just two days in mountains.

If it is indeed so, then he should avoid Giro like hell, for he has no place at this race. Constant good weather is an anomaly at the giro, which occurs roughly once in 4,5 years. What is normal, however, are the conditions that we are witnessing right now: overcast sky, rains, even snow might happen.
He should perhaps then target Dauphine Libere - it is already hot there at that time of year (June), with lesser number of racing days, there is a lesser possibility of falling sick if he is so very fragile.
There is also no place for him at the Tour. Before the race would even hit the base of the finishing climb, his legs would be full of lactic acid from the high tempo on the flats that the tour has.
He might try the Vuelta - the weather would suit him, but 3 weeks mean many occasions to get sick for such a fragile rider.

this exactly. hisa first attack saturday was incredible. the cold in the downhil killed him and yesterday he dropped already in the downhil before the final climb and still overtook many riders on the final slope. rujano simply has to have it 100% his way

Still proves he can ride at his best in the rain and cold...for at least one day;)

if he doesn't get cold no. he got cold in the downhil and his body blocked he said. same happened to him in giro 2006 when he even had to retire.

he would indeed be much better suited for the vuelta and tour though

yeah whatever
He only attacked so that he could take the descent easy, but you're too biased to see. I can already see you're sticking to this very convenient narrative: he was stronger than ever, look at that incredible attack, he would have destroyed everyone if not for the bad weather. No. Just no.

he totally killed cunego and in 1 km gained 40 seconds on the peloton and he is a diesel. last year his attack on etna looked a lot les simpressive and he got away quite far before contador attacked. I remember everyone in forum saying oh look at him he's falling flat with his attack. well no
