Who gives a crap about Tour GC contenders at early season warm up races? The fun of this time of year is other types of riders contending for wins.
Well, the post count in the other threads is telling that big stars bring greater interest.
Personally, I'll follow everything on my disposal and search the excitement anywhere it appears.

How many race days do these guys in the commentary booth watch? How can they possibly think there is a chance that the bunch will fail to catch the leaders?

And I can already tell we can expect Spanish early season quality of the tv production.
Breaky pictures, false distance and time readings...

Finally Bennati riding for himself and wins, hope he will start doing it more
Agreed. Hopefully Tinkoff will stop doing sprints for Kolar. He's horrible.

Bennati!!!! I was wondering who Tinkoff was gutting themselves for. Good to see the old man win one :). Chapeau Sir!

Roadbook said there would be 400m from the last roundabout to the finish. There were less than 100m there. Classic Spain :p

There's a reason he's primarily a lead out man now.
You forgot the core: For Viviani!

Edith asks ain't Swift leading Sky in smaller races mainly!?

Solid 11th place by Swift, dude is a monster

It's a joke. Technically Swift should do way better here than he did.

Swift flatters to deceive 98% of the time, but then he has the odd extremely good result. A very frustrating rider to follow.

Most of Swift's wins seem to come when the next best sprinter left in the leading group is Valverde. Although I think Sky haven't developed him into the top-of-the-second-tier Matthews type climbing sprinter he could have been, and he only has three stage wins since 2012, his career should still give him a lot of pride: a world champion on the track, a Monument podium, and podiums, jerseys and wins in WT races. He's been unfortunate with injury the last season or so too.

Today's can go to a breakaway, but not by a large margin.
Maybe some sorting out in the GC

Valverde, poels and van Garderen are my podium picks. Should be a good race, seems like a pretty even split of big riders between this and algarve
And yet the Algarve thread has 7 pages already while Andalucia has 7 posts. I wonder why.

I also think it's between Bala, Poels and TvG with Majka also beeing up there.

Take Contador out of Algarve and put him in the Ruta del Sol, and then you will see 7 pages here, and 7 posts in the Algarve thread...

Or maybe no so big difference.
