don't really have any sympathy for him. He may have been stitched up or unfairly targeted but it's another doper gone from the sport, so that's good.

I have no faith that all riders are treated equally by the UCI tho. I know he can't expect to be treated the same in terms of testing compared to a rider who has never been caught. I just don't think the same standards are applied to all previous dopers. Some are dispensible, some are not

pretty much like sinkewitz. well done uci...

c'mon there are like 3 or 4 positives for testosterone in the last 20 years or so lol. no one can be that dumb to be caught for that. this is pure revenge mob style

Don't forget that it took 1-2 years for the blood passport to get effective. The steroid passport was introduced at the beginning of this year, we may see the first results now.

Andriol is oral Testosterone. Nice TUE!

I don't see another name for Aprosten and it doesn't come up outside Italian websites.

If the linked story is believed true, then it doesn't mention contacting his NADO to start the TUE. That would have been the correct process.

I called the UCI scholar Mario Zorzoli to explain to him the situation and illustrargi therapy that I had faced in the previous seventh. "

Hmm... It seems like this Zorzoli guy is popular. Do you pay Zorzoli for a rapid TUE??

The one year that speeds were actually down was 2008. It took he riders and teams half a season to work out how to beat it. It's been well established in multiple threads.

In particular with Test, it's an easily defeated urinalysis. What gets an athlete into trouble is crossing the T/E ratio threshold set at a largely ridiculous 4:1. THEN they do the better test for artificial Test.

There's little controversy left about the T/E ratio being ridiculously high. It's straight-up license for PED use for 99.9% of athletes. Just don't cross the threshold!

How stupid can you be, Santambrogio!! Incredible and sad teams still give this idiots a contract, while many good clean riders have to stop.

Mollema ignoring the elephants(Padua, Astana, Nibali & Vino) and slaps down the mouse in the room!

Pro cycling at its finest.

Or for his mother in law...

So why did the UCI go public with this if they had his TUE? What a mess...

It wasn't a TUE. This is the paragraph on the latest CN news report:

"Even though Santambrogio was serving a ban, he is still bound, under UCI anti-doping rules, to remain subject to testing. Andriol is prohibited both in- and out-of competition under the WADA code, and the UCI's anti-doping regulations state that, "Use of any Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method to increase “low-normal” levels of any endogenous hormone is not considered an acceptable therapeutic intervention", so Santambrogio would not have been eligible for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) by the UCI."

Zorzoli (position) is one of the root causes of cycling's credibility issues imo.

His power and general actions smells of manipulation and corruption to me.

He has no place in a regulator which is tough on doping.

Maybe Zorzoli had a chuckle and called the testers after he was done talking to Santambrogio.

And maybe it will at least make cyclists think first before asking Zorzoli for "advice"

Probably they also go after his so called "doc".

This doc did nothing for his desire to be a father soon. Testoseron will supress your hypophysis and with it sperm production. And erectile dysfunction well. just stay of the bike i guess

If this so called urologist really wanted to help him he should have cut his balls open and have done a sperm extraction.

He claims to be worried about fertility....

From CN "Andriol, a synthetic form of testosterone used as a treatment for hypogonadism and erectile dysfunction, has the unfortunate side-effect of decreasing sperm production and creating fertility problems, recent studies have shown."

:(

after this story, definitely he won't come back as a rider. imagine if cipo and ricco were still in the peloton, they would have mocked him all day long
mauro santambrogio also known as the opposite of pascal richard...

You go to jail for murder. For some absurd reason your sentence is shortened. But before getting out you murder again? Madness..

Joe Dombrowski ‏@JoeDombro
@theboz91 Wait a minute... doesn't trt actually reduce sperm count? Leaving you, uh, less fertile...

Bet these 2 Freds said nothing about Padova and Astana.........
