I hope the people who took care of him last time he was down and out keeps an eye on him this time too. :(

“With us, Santambrogio won’t just be a rider. Given his history, he’ll also become a champion of the right against doping,” said Amore & Vita manager Ivano Fanini.

Well, I suppose the first sentence is correct. :p

I don't think this guy is any worse than the rest of pro cycling. He is just getting scapegoated. Just wait if he says something bad about the new generation he will get threatened by Cookson.

Look, the tests are a joke. If you manage to get popped twice in such a humorous fashion, you're either overdoing it, or you're a total moron.

In neither case are you being scapegoated, and in the former case you *are* actually worse than most other dopers.

Agreed. Would be no surprise if he fell into an even worse depression this time.

It is clear that psychological help would be a huge help for many riders. They are psychologically dependant on doping. No surprise they return to their old habits.

I agree with the sceptic, I don't think Santambrogio is any worse than the others. I guess he was targeted and did not have an expensive doctor carefully monitor his doping program.

obviously payback for talking to circ or whatever the heck that thing is called

obviously

yup. obviously.

totally obviously.

how about a mediocre rider who knows (from factual results) that they cannot make it as a pro without the sauce?

how about a rider who is not only physically reliant but also psychologically reliant on doping?

but that would be completely off the wall hypotheses... obviously.

much much easier to believe that the uci under new management is punishing the riders - who they are also encouraging to speak to the independent commission - for doing just that.

oy.

obviously.

Or the UCI wants you to get popped. I don't think anyone can be this dumb.

Edit: It is interesting that a few riders got caught for GW501516, but looks like there is still no test for AICAR.

Of course not, otherwise teams like Saxo and Sky would start showing positives. Can't have that.
