As much as I'd like for Hesjedal to win tommorow, I think Cadel looks like the best candidate for the win in my opinion.

Everyone keeps mentioning Evans but honestly no one knows where he is form-wise, I'd say not even himself. It's basically his first race of the season, since Friuli was a bit of a disaster.

I'm sure he trained really well over the winter but I think Montepaschi is too long and too tough of a first race, for him to contender. I still think he can do well, but those who are in good shape and have already the race rythm and "Rennhärte" (not sure how to translate that, maybe "race strength") will have the edge on him.

Should he prove me wrong I will be happily surprised

There was this story about him closing the gap to the front group from 3 minutes to half a minute in Friuli... don't know if it's true, but that would certainly imply some degree of form. And Evans doesn't need many race days to find form anyway.

Well last year he only had one day before this race too (if you count the TdU as a completely different block of racing)... Well off the pace last year but I think there were reports of being a bit sick (ACF can confirm).

No Astana sucks, could have had a really good squad - Iglinskiy, Gasparotto, Lorenzetto, Davis, Stangelj, Clarke.

I'm not able to watch this race... or atleast not the last hour. If anyone has a tip for me to watch this race tomorrow without spoilers I would be very happy.

Normally I check teamskyfans.com, but dim allready said he won't be home till sundaynight. And I really have to watch it tomorrow :)

How was Friuli a disaster for him?

Yes that is the case. He pretty much got Santambrogio back into the race.
