Garmin riding on the front of the break AND the front of the peloton...

Desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose.

Yea, a bit perplexing.

Haussler, Terpstra, G.E. Larsson (?) and three more with a small gap to the second group lead by Fabian.

Cervelo all over the place. I think they want to win this.

Its kind of hard to tell...I'm not sure burning yourself up to catch a break THAT CONTAINS A TEAMMATE...when (call me crazy) there just MIGHT be other teams with an interest in chasing (thereby saving your legs) is a great recipe for success.

It does smack of panic ever so slightly. There are no radios today, right?

If Hushovd or Haussler wins then it won't seem stupid at all.

Trying to drop Cancellara after his issues? That would be the only rational reason I could see for riding how they did.

Dodge, Parry, Thrust!

Garmin seems to be taking stock of the situation. Teams are getting set up for their moves on the Kwaremont at 36km to go.

Yea, the eternal word "if?" Maybe they were trying to keep Canc OTB? Vanmarcke is riding strongly. I think supporting him at this point is the better option, but if H or H win, I guess you can say they had a strategy?

Canc motoing.

Hushovd and Nuyens look good too.

Edit: Poor Voeckler, having to wear that awful white jersey instead of the french champ kit... Does he actually have to wear it?

Garmin have this so called super team for these sort of races, they have to do something even if its racing against themselves.

I'm lost with the groups. Are Haussler and co still off the front?

Yup. Haussler is in the group 50 seconds back from the lead breakaway, and the Hushovd/Cancellara/Devolder group is another 45 seconds behind that.

I guess? You'd think Canc would present enough of a challenge to them, but hey...

Devolder's tactic: 1. Ride at the back of the peloton. 2. Use lots of energy to get back to the front. 3. Launch an unimpressive attack. 4. Get dropped. :p
