Anyway here is an interview with him, he looks ok but had to take a bit of time off, and will be targeting the Ardennes races then the Giro I believe.

Still not riding tomorrow. He will have no preparation for the ardenne classics. Lets see whether he will have a chance to compete for top 10 under that circumstances

Despite missing altitude training before the Giro, his shape is improving as the race goes on exactly like last year.
Tomorrow is probably his best shot at a stage win. Whatever happens, it's nice to see him regaining his early season level.

For the first part of the season the programme will be:

-Spanish one day races in January
-some French races in February
-tirreno Adriatico
-itzulia
-amstel + fleche + LBL
-giro d'italia

In the second part of the season he could do the vuelta but the team may want him to focus on results on one-day races

He deliberately skips strade bianche, where he crash on 2025 - he says it's not a race for him

He would like to do the tour, but the giro route it's better for him. In the past he had issues with the heat, which is why he never did the tour and why early season form did not translate to the summer. Now he thinks he is improved in the heat.
