My posts had nothing to do with Lance or whether I think Yates is clean or not.

I'm merely pointing out that there has been some misinformation being passed around and this might clear it up.

Not a chance. How can people believe that Dave Brailsford, the man that followed the world tour for a year before Sky was launched, knew nothing about Yates, Barry or Rogers?

He should come clean, confess that he knew but needed the riders / staff to win and move on.

Otherwise he's going to come out of this looking very dishonest.

I hope his stewardship of British Cycling is also looked at, some things are starting to stink there.

that's real bs. until few weeks ago it was "save" to believe that armstrong etc were clean. I know people with braincells who followed cycling then knew. but brailsford doesn't have braincells and didn't follow cycling then. michael barry?? when was he ever accused of doping, let alone convicted? same with rogers.

Why doesnt someone ask about the doping suspicion list from the Tour and the 6 or greaters on that list (Thomas, Rogers, Knees, Siutsou) + 5 (Wiggins). If Brailsford answers that the list was faulty etc then i am sure that releasing all their test results would help allay any doubt...

Ah, yeah. Of course. It was just 'a few weeks ago' that Armstrongs samples from 1999 were shown to have EPO in them and Barry was named by Landis.

Plenty knew and for someone on the inside not to know is just total BS. Brailsford has followed cycling for most of his life.

Horner a zero? Yup I'd say there's a case the list was faulty.

He didn't see it and anyway that is in the past, must look hard to future dont look back keep looking ahead future ahead not back in front looking.....

What a joke all the BS coming rom Sky has been!

They sound as dirty as every other team with their non answers!

Quite interesting to do the comparison between the 2010 team (mainly 0-2) and the 2012 team where you get Rogers & Siutsou who were way up there on the IoS

Means something and nothing of course but worth remembering that 5-6 were considered to be verging on the affirmative and above that seen as 'overwhelming': "Some of the files' commentaries are damning. Recurrent abnormal profiles, enormous fluctuations, identification of the used doping product and means of administration..." according to Damien Ressiot.

In a large dataset you're always going to get the odd outlier. Maybe Horner had sparse testing or maybe he's got a way of beating the passport. It doesn't mean Sky having multiple "suspicious" riders is any easier for them to explain imo

So I moved to Europe in the spring of 2000. I was still determined to race clean in Europe. I found the racing scene to be different because the drugs were a big secret but they were still there. Now nobody talked about it and it was kind of like, “Drugs are illegal and this is a drug free team but you need to be professional and do what it takes to win.” Let’s put it this way - the reason riders had to quit races wasn’t from a stomach virus it was because they had something in his system that would test positive.

Our team was always getting mad at a certain rider for leaving his EPO in our truck. But these were old school pros in Europe and they believed they had the right because the sport was too hard. My teammate would sometimes keep me up at night before world cups with his blood spinners, used to measure the thickness of blood so you can stay under the UCI legal limit of 50. He had shots for everything including his penis which he injected for 4 hour erections. Drugs were definitely ruling his life but that was the scene. He lived a rock star life and he liked sleeping with 14 different girls during the Giro, having a mistress, and a wife. He cracked one of my teammates with all his drama. My teammate threw the phone at him and told him to get his life strengthened out.

Racing was a crazy world in Europe and it was hard. Sometimes our team would do a random blood spin after dinner to make sure everyone’s blood was not too thick. If it was too thick, they would have to drain their blood into a coke can and pour it down the sink. There were even games being played at nights for these spin offs. Everyone would put money into a pile, and the rider with the lowest Hemocrit would get all the money.

No wonder Yates' legs are so bad looking. He must bump into a lot of stuff spending so much time with his eyes closed.

First rule of antidoping tests: a positive or suspicious result is meaningful, a negative or non-suspicious result means zilch.

Looks like below can be updated further then. And slowly the murky past starts to becomes clearer...

1989: Yates moves to 7 Eleven, tests positive, Kimmage retires from Fagor after joining late 1988, cites "Doping in Peloton"
1991-96: Yates at Motorola, retires from riding in '96. Johnny Weltz also there as assistant sports director in 1995.
1997: Weltz joins USPS as sports director
1998 -2001: Yates joins Linda McCartney as sports director, also there Craig Geater, Matt Decanio, Brad Wiggins joins 2001. Team set up and run by Julian Clark, folded Jan 2001
2001: Yates joins Team iNova, then CSC Tiscali at invitation of Riis. Weltz and Geater also at CSC.
2004: Weltz moves to Discovery
2005: Yates joins Discovery at invitation of Lance. Geater also joins as Lance's mechanic.
2006: Weltz joins TIAA-Cref, which later becomes Garmin Sharp
2008: Yates joins Astana.
2009: Geater joins Astana, Yates joins Sky, Wiggins at Garmin (with Weltz).

Sutton was the Welsh Team Coach / Manager at that time
