go check pais vasco stage of today

I think he know that Ryo, it's just the 'He's arrived' thing that bemsued vino as Henao was already looking great before this stage.

I finally was able to catch up with the Pais Vasco videos- & I'm most impressed with Henao's performance-there is no doubt in my mind he will be one force to be reckoned with in this Giro- not going to venture whether he'll make the podium or not, but I'm certain he will provide excitement to the race:)

Anyone know whether he is peaking for Pais Vasco at all?

no he's not. he hasn't raced in 5 weeks and has only got 6 racing days. 3 days mallorca and 3 days west-flanders. he peaks for the giro.

Hard to say, I mean are you sure Henao already knows how to peak properly? His performances in Utah last year were also after a break. Maybe he is just too? eager to prove himself at this level right away.

last year he wasn't in topshape either in utah(I;m sure he had a little peak), he was in rcn. same with infantino for instance who rode strongly at colorado, but way stronger in rcn. he knows how to peak very well. he did so in 2010 to win vuelta colombia and last year for rcn, where he wasn't strong enough simply against especially infantino

Congrats to his 3rd place finish. I know he likes steep stuff but i was not expecting him to go that well so soon. How much time/places will he lose in the ITT though???

he doesn't actually like steep stuff. it was his big achilesheel in colombia. itt is hard to say really. I hope for a top ten. who knows

Yeah but that is multiple step stuff in Colombia probably. Over in the European peleton he goes better on it when there is just the 1 ( i would assume )- where he is better than most of the Euro peleton.

yes it could be. botero was a sucky climber in colombia and pena too, but in europe were quite good. especially botero

as johan bruyneel once put it in kings of the mountains. "if you have a colombian that can timetrial you have a GT rider. as they can all climb."

guys a beast, i have him in all my fantasy teams and it was a pretty good pickup i think

some fun stuff from him:

Dejemos volar la imaginación un poquillo, ¿cuál sería el titular que te gustaría ver escrito con tu nombre como protagonista?

(Zandio: ¡Apunta alto, no te cortes!

Lol.

I admire the fact that he shows interest in those races, but he's in for a big surprise when he'll race them. Especially Roubaix.

he already did them as u23 and recently roide 3 days of flanders. he knows what it's like but of course winning is something entirely else. roubaix I don't think he could ever win. flanders is more hilly race
