guy who owns trainingscamp is best rider...

So Jesus Hernandez best rider ever??
That's not what I said at all, did you even read the posts? Ryo said Henao was better because of "tests", and I argumented why that might not be the case. I never said anything about who is best rider...

What are their rest results, exactly? Nordhaug was Sky's best climber at their training camp (Henao wasn't there though) and has scored a VO2 max of 90, so he definitely doesn't lack test results.

I don't think Henao is higher in the "picking order" of Sky, that'd be quite illogical given Nordhaug's results so far this season. Of course, all things normal Uran will be the leader at L-B-L, but I'm quite sure that Nordhaug will be Sky's captain in F-W. Anyway, we'll see in Pais Vasco if he still has that shape. I'm looking forward to seeing the deadly Nordhaug-Henao combo again, it worked quite well in Mallorca :p

Among the Vacansoleil duo Pavarin and Marcato, the first one is the one with the best test results but he doesnt get the same race results as the 2nd one.

I saw some rumours on twitter from UK journalists that Uran will go to the Giro with Henao and miss the Tour. Have you heard anything on that Ryo?

not true. uran focus all on tour. henao for giro. uran doesn't like the giro either

Indeed, Uran has a good chance of white imo too. Ardennes/Tour/Italian Classics are the way to go for him.

I wonder if he'll do Vuelta though, do you know ?

I hope he & Uran do go to the Tour, Wiggins could do with the sort of help they can provide. That said I'm interested to see what they can do in their own right, particularly Henao.

Really doubt it. Sky's DS in interview told that Sky are going for stage wins, didnt mention GC once, Svistov is going as well as Henao. Can't see Sky sending more climbers than 2 :p Nordhaug is doing Norway so wont race. Really doubt it for Uran doing Giro, very unlikely.

Well Uran appears to think differently and the journalist on twitter seemed to imply that he'd had it confirmed from Brailsford that Uran will do the Giro and probably not the Tour.

The likes of Siutsov, Uran, Nordhaug and Lovkvist all seem to think they have a chance of a Tour spot but I'd say at most only one of them will make the cut. Knees and Zandio are also possibilities for that spot.

Wiggins, Froome, Porte, Rogers, EBH, Cavendish and Eisel all seem to be very likely for the Tour.

The other remaining spot will be for a strong rouleur/flat domestique - Pate, Stannard, Flecha, Hayman. Probably either Pate or Stannard to work on the front all day in the flat stages.

uran will do the tour simple as that.

I think that will depend a great deal on how he recovers from the Giro (are you still convinced that he won't be doing the Giro btw?). If they want another good climber on their Tour squad then they might decide to go for someone like Nordhaug as he'll probably be much fresher.

Loads can change before now and July. At this stage last year I was convinced that Rogers and Cummings would be on the Tour squad but both ultimately missed out due to picking up serious health problems.

The Tour will be Urán’s primary target again for this season but it is by no means his sole objective: “First off I’ll be targeting the Ardennes Classics and then everything will be focused towards the Tour. The way I performed there last year has given me a lot of confidence and I’ll definitely be going full gas in the lead up to this year’s race to make sure I have the best chance of doing something again.

this is from interview with him and from the sky website

he won;t do the giro. he goes full on for the ardenne races and then rebuilds towards the tour. same as last year

When did that interview take place?

It wouldn't surprise me if Porte's early season form has changed Sky's thinking.

The quote from biciciclismo does seem pretty straightforward. Plans change, and as of last week Uran seemed to think he'll be doing the Giro. Interesting.

 Malhao stage win, Algarve GC win, stringing out the peleton on Mende, etc.

how will that change anything? porte won't be a leader for any gc. he is simply good in 1 week stageraces and did nothing out of the ordinary. already in paris nice uran was getting better than him and it was his first race

about henao though I really wonder how much they will work on his itt already

That interview has been up there for a while though, so the bici one is more recent. Unless he was misquoted, that suggests Uran has been told he is doing the Giro.

With regards to Porte's form I was referring to him being a domestique for Wiggins at the Tour. Sky probably feel like they have enough to support Wiggins at the Tour with Froome and Porte and so can therefore afford to let Uran ride for GC at the Giro.

If Wiggins/sky want the tour title there is no way Froome, Wiggins, and Porte
will cut it. That is asking to be taken apart on long mountainous days.

You mean GT not GC right:confused:. Also he could in the future ( 7th in his first GT- admittedly a break but still ). He is a strong ITTer and younger than Froome/ Wiggins when they broke through.

yes in gt I meant. yes but froome is from kenya was always huge talent in south africa. it has amazed me of course as well but he's great in recuperation and altitude, long distance climbing coming from racing in south africa a bit. that's why you often see colombians or south africans dominating langkawi.

australia never produces real climbers basically and if they can climb they are "made" climbers like they are trying now with cameron meyer, bobridge and porte is another "made" climber. same as wiggins except wigginsd was 80 kg and could drop 11 kg. porte is 62 kg already
