Etiquette and respect are the reasons I (and I assume those who share my opinion) wouldn't wear the kits mentioned. Tradition is a great part of our sport

Oh puh-leez

I guess its probably OK for me to have worn my Saunier-Duval top today, after all it was a team full of dopeheads not worthy of respect (although they were following one of the strongest traditions in the sport).

Look..to whoever it was that started this thread...just wear what you want, and if anyone objects just ignore them. You'll not be missing out on much.

It was perfectly fine for you to wear it, and I would have made a comment. :D

I long for the days when you didn't see 275 lb. world champions on every corner. Just because clothing manufacturers are willing to make a profit from your desire to purchase something someone else has earned doesn't make your opinion any more correct than others. You do have the right to wear whatever you would like, just don't be offended by someone commenting on your choice of attire.
I won't be offended at all

I don't look like those guys on the corner you mentioned.:D (BTW, I know this is an invite, so have fun! :)

Yesterday I saw a guy wearing the shorts from the first year the team was called "Saxo Bank". (at least I think it was from back then.)
However, from what I could see of his jersey (he was wearing a Black rain West as well) it looked like the one of those from 2012 until Tinkoff came abboard.

This is what the OP asked in thread #1
"What do you think about the average roadie wearing pro team outfits?"

My post was about what I thought. I am not suggesting rules be made (although race, and there are rules), but what I thought.

The average roadie - is doing all sponsors a favor by wearing kits that highlight the sponsor. It is intended that average roadies will wear pro team kits. A team/pro roadie will wear their team kits.

The average roadie - I think should respect the sport of cycling by respecting special jerseys - especially if it looks as if they may have earned it.

Wear what you want whenever you want. if you like the colour, tema, style pattern or price (and I've bought some kit just based on a cheap price, buy it!

Actually, I have one situation in which I think wearing team kits is not just sorta okay, but totally awesome:
When a young kid with diabetes wears Novo Nordisk kit as a motivator to remind themselves that they can still have an active life and dream about a pro career.

Nothing wrong with any young kids wearing team kits but that would be especially awesome.

In 1994 I skipped school and drove 100 miles on my scooter to buy a Gewiss-Ballan jersey. I still have a picture climbing the l'Alpe d'Huez (without EPO) with this kit. Together with a lovely pair of diadora shoes. I even had the Gewiss hat !

Not every store sell team kits because its expensive and they dont always get rid of them. The next year, the team has a different kit again.

Now I collect them.

I always liked Del Tongo and I recently bought Roslotto (awesome, only 2 years active).
