Suisse, Poland, Olympics and then the Vuelta would be a great schedule for him.

Yep. He would be a top GC contenter for either TdS or Poland; whereas in the Dauphine or TdF he'd be a domestique for sure. Why would a fan of his want him at either of those races?

Even in TdS you will probably get a repeat of Paris-Nice.

Finally Henao is back :) He surely will make the TDF team this time.

Why? They have plenty of alternatives. He only might have a chance if Landa won't go I reckon.
If he's in good form, he surely has a chance to make it.

I think Dave B prefers to keep it this way. If Sergio goes to the Tour they probably have to elaborate about the case.
TDF is all about Froome, no need for any unpleasant but predictable fuss.
Well, in that case it could take the focus away from Froome, but a lot will depend on both their performances in Dauphine/Suisse

Probably, but hopefully the much steeper mountains will mean Thomas won't be that great and Henao will be a semi-protected rider. Unlikely, but I like those chances better than something like it happening at the Dauphine or TdF.

Well, last year was their main rider and Henao had to work for him, although that was after he lost time in one of the earlier stages. In the Dauphine he would obviously be a domestique, but I think he might be allowed to go for his own chances in Suisse.

Suisse is for Thomas btw...Pity Henao wasnot cleared sooner and rode Giro...he would have done very well on GC in that field. Unlucky rider

I hope he rides the Tour as he has always wanted to ride the Tour ....could win a stage and who knows do well on GC ...its not impossible... dependent on form

he was training at home. Suisse is more realistic than Dauphiné.

hoping to see him in his FIRST tdf this year :)

Maybe he staged the whole thing so he'd miss the Giro so he could make the Tour :p

Lucky Henao ! usually the UCI doesn't get a pass after a second "suspicious call" - but anyways. Hope he can pick up what he left of before Il Giro & get the chance to go for personal glory in the coming week long races....

I don't think he cares about the Tour of Poland. Of course he wants to make the Tour team. That is his dream. Even if it is only on support of Froome. That's not even a fair choice. The only thing that could twist his hand is having leadership on La Vuelta. But he has had it in the past and didn't do well.

He has trained all year for the Tour. He has said it that is his dream. So this isn't a choice on him but on the team.

That would be a nice schedule for him, however I think its general consensus that he really wants to ride the Tour, even though obviously he will be in support of Froome.

Well he was really looking forward to the Giro, so saying he trained all year for the Tour is a bit strange. I know he really wants to ride the TdF but I dont think it was in his original schedule this year.

Second stage is a good one for him.

He only said Dauphine.

I thought it was said he'd do either the Dauphiné or Suisse.

He could theoretically abandon the last two stages of the Dauphiné and head to Suisse, but he'll just be riding the Dauphiné.

I don't think you can do that under WT rules. They cross each other 1 day.

Actually two days, the Saturday and Sunday. I know WT regulations don't allow it, but I thought that under certain circumstances, you would still be allowed to start, although I don't believe this would be the case here. However, if a rider drops out of a GT due to injury or illness or something and he recovers before that GT is over, the UCI may allow him to race another race that takes place during that GT. I think this came up last year when Nibali was taken out of the Vuelta and he was in fact declined to race elsewhere because he was disqualified for unsporting behaviour. Anyway, Dauphiné for Henao, Sky should have a very strong team, provided everyone is on form.

He has had his opportunities in the past and has wasted them. Besides he has had bad luck also.
