A bit late coming to this thread for Zesdaagse van Amsterdam, but I couldn't agree more on the poor coverage by CN.

I remember when the site used to give us daily results for every race with a comprehensive report. Now we're lucky to get the daily points total a few days late.

Thankfully there are sites like the one posted by Dazed and Confused and the one I got my live coverage from (http://www.sixdayracing.com/video/ which had live streaming with Dutch, English or German commentary).

The double lap Kenny De Ketele and Gijs Van Hoecke took at the end of the final madison to win the title was six day racing at its best.

A very good field this year and also great
commentary: the infectious enthusiasm of

Great last madison. Significant pace, almost no time to recover before new attacks started. Can it continue? Doubt it, but we shall see.

Great last madison. Significant pace, almost no time to recover before new attacks started. Can it continue? Doubt it, but we shall see.

Action starts today at 12:30 local.

After 4th round:
1 Kenny de Ketele – Jasper de Buyst (BEL), 250 p.,
2 Iljo Keisse (BEL) – Niki Terpstra (NED), 243 p.,
3 Michael Mørkøv – Alex Rasmussen (DEN), 222 p.,
4 Jens Mouris – Wim Stroetinga (NED), 156 p.,
at 2 laps:
5 Leif Lampater (GER) – Barry Markus (NED), 122 p.

The Danes managed to take a lap in the last madison and we have 4 pairs at the top on equal laps. Could become tactical or quite a bit of anarchy. Race will resume Monday @19:15 (Local).

5 days down:
1 Kenny de Ketele (BEL) / Jasper de Buyst (BEL) 0 308
2 Niki Terpstra (NED) / Iljo Keisse (BEL) -1 295
3 Michael Mørkøv (DEN) / Alex Rasmussen (DEN) -1 292
4 Jens Mouris (NED) / Wim Stroetinga (NED) -1 185
5 Barry Markus (NED) / Leif Lampater (GER) -2 152

Essentially we have 4 teams on same lap with one night to go. This could become a tactical nightmare. Luckily Jens and Wim are 100 points down on the top three teams, which should guarantee aggressive action at least in the final madison.

For me, Keisse and Terpstra looks best taking laps, but they spend lots of energy setting the pace in the peloton.

Action starts around 19:00 (CET), but if you plan on spending just very little time watching the show for the first time, tune in at around 21:45.

Could be a new Six Day in the UK soon:
"FACE Partnership has carefully considered the opportunities around a Six Day event in the UK, and it's an idea we find very exciting," the company's managing director James Pope told Cycling Weekly.

"We've had discussions with Six Day promoters from the continent and it's a format we'd love to bring across the channel if it was viable logistically and commercially.

"The FACE Partnership team is in fact heading to Bremen in Germany this weekend to experience first-hand the excitement and atmosphere of a Six Day race."

Manchester, London or Glasgow?
Hopefully the promoters will do their research and get it right.
I think any of the venues could support an event if it was
scheduled right, promoted properly and attracted a good
international field and the best domestic riders.

Care will have to be taken to strike a balance, but not saturate
the market, with World Cups, Revolutions, and Six-Days.
I do like the way the track sport is evolving, though, with
a fair bit of cross-over, i.e. many riders doing both the Sixes
and the World Cups/World Championships.

Yeah, I was talking about the second link which seemed
like pretty good quality on the small, old lap-top I was
watching it on. However, I made the above post after
only watching a very few seconds and just assuming
they would have at least one other camera position
that they would switch to. Unfortunately they just
stayed withe the one camera placement which was
not really ideal. Sorry if I got anyone unduly excited.:(

Following an incident during the first derny race on day two of the Six Days of Amsterdam, derny pacer Cees Stam spend the night under observation at the VU hospital in Amsterdam.

Stam has displayed some positive signs overnight, but his condition overall remains critical. The organisation remains in close contact with the family.

Racing will resume this evening with a full program planned.
