Froomey gives it the old Sergeant Schultz, "I know nothing" answer,
https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/iv...eur-david-rozman-and-convicted-doping-doctor/
Speaking publicly about the case for the first time at a race since news broke about the enquiry, when asked for his thoughts about it, Froome told journalists before the Tour de Pologne, "I've only seen what's been in the media, I only know as much as you guys." .... Froome also denied reports that he had removed any images of himself with David Rozman from his social accounts after the story broke.

It's so fitting that Froome comes back to the Tour of Poland after 14 years, when he came in 85th on GC, 26 minutes behind winner Sagan, and then went on to be eventually declared winner of the Vuelta (beaten only by a guy who got DQ because he got busted for doping. NB only a guy doping could beat Froome). Now, 14 years later he has to answer about why his personal soigneur is in court records about a blood doping case, at the Tour of Poland.
I should write something about karma here, or the circle being complete, but I leave that to a more erudite member of the forum.

If I had watched those
old races with Froome back then
I'd made poetry

but no noob eyes saw
the karma in those moments
someone else should though

A Greek chap said a long time ago, "A man is known by the company he keeps". Sir Brad's current best buds, Lance & Jan have a, shall we say, "common history".
I think it's time for an apperance on Oprah, some tears, some confessions and a hefty apperance fee. (the man does have some financial difficulties after all)
Then a PR blitz, with some well paid UK newspaper stories and some online social media hoopla, a book in time for Christmas, and some "ride with a Tour de France winner" events. ("Make British Cycling great again" or some other nonsense).
Yep, let's get this over and done with before the circus starts rolling along again next year, and everything is fine and dandy again.

G has also a personal Slovenian masseur - Marko Džalo. (From Dec 2024)

Geraint Thomas' long-time soigneur and masseur has been present at all of its greatest successes over the past decade as part of the Sky/Ineos Grenadiers team.
At the 2023 Giro MTT -

By basic profession, you are a masseur, but only for Geraint Thomas?
"I've been more with Thomas for the last five seasons, at least until the Tour, and since then he's been taking more of a break. Normally, if it's not there, I massage everything."But you're Froome before, so you pick up only the best - crème de la crème?
"No, David Rozman had him, I only had him when he wasn't around."
How do you come to be the personal masseur of such a champion?
"It's hard to say – personal, because I'm paid by the team. I follow his program, I am with him in all the preparations, in the races, even in Monaco, especially if the longer block of preparations is at home. This year, at the beginning of the season, when there was lockdown and his family was in Cardiff, Wales because they didn't have the necessary visa because of Brexit, I was with him for a long time. Normally, when you're on the bike for six, seven hours, you don't feel like cooking yet."

I think the fact Džalo confirms here that Rozman was assigned specifically to Froome is the bigger story in there tbh.
Correct, but the transformation of G into a Tour de France winner is also "interesting". There seems to be at least two strands of the same Schmidt related "programme" - one at Sky and one at Bahrain. UAE have more Slovenians then live in Slovenia, but seem to have their own "programme".

I do hope we find out who the other person at Team Sky was who had contact with Schmidt, as blood doping is only one part of the normal doping "cocktail". The request for the same stuff as used by Milram and Rozman's contact with "Baltazar" sounds like the other normal ingredients source for the "cocktail".

Most of all of this makes little to no sense from a self preservation perspective.
If you see the arbitrary way dopers are treated in bike racing it is utterly illogical to admit anything.
If you were in company of co-workers and comrades who were convicted, you were not, Your name or responsibilities were not part of their case.. Keep working keep earning a salary, keep yourself and family alive.
There is something implied that Rozman should have come forward to turn himself in.. That's a noble best case scenario , what has actually transpired up to now should be expected from Rozman and all the others involved to act this way.
It looks like Rozman is guilty of something, but he took the stance of innocent until proven guilty.
His employment in cycling is probably blown up beyond repair, so some kind of plea bargain to finger others may have some purpose for prosecution but him doing or saying anything to further a case won't help him in cycling...
Pro cycling voluntarily keeps this all going..dopers like Vino, Vaughters, Aldag, Giannetti, dozens of others all working in the sport..Rozman is not any different.. Just the time it took to discover he was a scumbag. That's my opinion, but if cycling history and reality are the teacher.. Guys like VandeVelde, Hindcappie,Landis, Valverde, Kelly, dozens, dozens more all find a way to dope, stay in some cycling capacity. Rozman probably hired by someone soon.

Yep, Rozman could keep his mouth shut and we all go on as nothing happened. I mean, we've even got George Hincapie (backed by Lance) on his way back. I guess that Sir Dave will have to fire him and he turns up with his old buddlies at Bahrain or UAE.
That wil leave lots of unanswered questions though, which Sir Dave will have to duck and dive to avoid.
