Only the Crucible can create such a tension.
O'Sullivan should appreciate the decision to shorten the session. Even if he's won the last frame.
On the other hand, the longer evening session fits Selby better.

Selby leads 12-11 now. Ronnie made a huge blunder on the last pink, and Selby cleaned up.

Has the makings of a late night classic this.

I wouldn´t call that blunder. Extreme pressure. Selby missed also a lot on the last tight frame. In the end they are humans too.

True, there might be a great thriller in the making. Something like 1985 would be great.

Why? I think they are both used to long games, the level is about the same. It´s 50/50 now. It will all come down to pots made under pressure.

You're right about the pressure pots. That we'll decide the championship.
Selby looks more evening type than Ronnie.
Also, O'Sullivan looked to get as much rest as it's possible so far. That tells me he isn't sure he can perform the session after session on the highest level. He's not too old, but Selby's age predict a nicer vigilance curve.
Selby has gone through the fatigue crisis yesterday, too. Ronnie hasn't yet.

True. Age should matter. Less concentration, less stamina... Now that´s not cycling here, but still age matters, since most billard players peak in their 20s not 30s... Good point.

So I´d call it 55/45 for Selby

According to William Hill Ronnie is still in advantage.
In my opinion, he needs a fast start. Something similar to yesterday's sessions.
The longer it gets, Selby's chances will rise.
Long and messy game is his playing ground against heavy potters.

Take a look at Ronnie... Combed, calmer... Leaving impression of a man with the plan.
This afternoon he looked like he's got to the Crucible straight from his bed.
Maybe he did. Knowing what kind of evening is in front of him.
But Selby's following his own plan too.

You mean according to Will Hills, they've taken lots of bets on Ronnie already. What a shock.

Most probably. But I was surprised a bit with the odds on live betting.
Balls still rolling the way Selby wants.
I'm now on Ronnie's side.

It´s over. Soon I expect O´Sullivan antics. Not like against Hendry some years ago, but something like a give up...

Are you actually blind? He won 13 of the last 17 frames, and could easily have won the other 4. With comments like this, it's no wonder everything Ronny does gets applauded.

I really despair of the dull, simple minds who find watching breaks more entertaining than quality safety play.

He deserved the victory. Anyone who can recover from 5 frames behind Ronnie deserves the title.
The burden of your disappointment should be on Ronnie's back. It was his game what gave Selby the final opportunity.
And don't forget Selby's semi-final match.
Deserved champion.

It was more of a tactic slow play than classic safety play,he just wore Ronnie down with horrible Ebdon style, and it worked, eventually it looks like the only way to beat him nowadays in WCH.
Ronnie didnt play so well,he lost that match with his mistakes tho.

bolded:thats not my case,e.g. I love Higgins (old days) safety plays, sometimes even Peter is really entertaining. But I hate to see 3 or more frames in a row which are more than 30 minutes long, these last 2 matches (against Robertson it was even worse) were insane, some parts were unlookable.

Didn´t watch until I heard Bingham ... Bingham of all ... made the final. That is like Hungary playing the soccer WC final. So I am very surprised he won the final too.

Not really surprising with that kind of form he had, amazing matches again Trump and Murphy (also agains Ronnie). Those risky pots were amazing, even tho he didnt use it in last frames of the final.¨

He is not favourite, but Congrats Stuart!!!
