Interesting, and well found.

I find her posting robotic - ie emotionless. None of the emotive words used are backed up by the "voice" of her posts, which are monotonous.

I also find it relentless - without purpose - which also appears robotic.

The big ring is making an interesting argument that we should consider. You have started to convince me. The most important thing to discuss now is blahblahblahblahblahblahblah... :D

if it is a bot, I think someone real logs in occasionally and adds shorter responses to specific posters. and while it doesn't matter if any poster is a she or he, I do find her occasional cutesiness a little annoying. but maybe she's here looking for a date?

Edited to add: if she were Polish returned, I would expect her posts to be much more clever, at least subtly if nothing else. he could be supremely irritating, but dull and humourless he was not.

Is that poster human?
Or a bot?

Super-extreme posting frequency...
Absence of humor or anger...
Responsiveness to absurd questions . . .

I dunno.

This is a response to (potentially) absurd questions.

I know that there are members who consider my posting frequency super extreme.

Lots of people don't get my humor, and I rarely express myself in anger.

LL made a dumb mistake when she first showed up.

Let's talk about that one.

RR is the most revered contributor to the forum. Why wouldn't someone ask, 'who are you'? Personally, I look forward to meeting RR one day.

Floyd and his people actively tried to expose my identity. I am sure there are many others.

One (that I know of) now banned Lance supporting poster on this forum tried to do the same.

However, lots of others know who I am. So what?

If LL is a bot, it would be very intriguing. Particularly since most of LL's Clinic posts are more bluntly negative about Lance than I am.

It would be a strange bot that would do that, given the presumptive sponsor of said possible bot.

However, I could be wrong. Even Steve Jobs was barely right half the time.

Dave.

No matter what something is not right about this chic laura. Just saying. I had a conversation via something other than this message board about LL. Still not convinced something is not quite right. Oh well does it really matter? :D

I thought, for sure, she's a bot right up to the point where she picked her nose.

:D Haha!

She may be a bit of both (posting with a little assistance)?!

Whatever her raison d'être she is simply frantic to post.

If we all upped our posting frequency it might make her implode to keep up her current rate... :p

I don't think you're a bot at all.

LL appears multi-personalitied. Someone PM'd me the moniker, "united states of ll", and it fits.

Half her posts are pro-armstrong, half are what look like anti, but come across without conviction. Her links tend towards pro-Armstrong, imo.

Even if there is a real person with this name, we do not know for sure it is her posting.

And she appears to have disappeared.

The interaction with Mike Anderson in his thread and the RR thread where she cracked it about attribution are the 2 example that look plain kooky.

Just found this thread!

From the very first or second post, LL reminded me of a bot. I posted a link to a Wired article about bots writing summaries of sports stories. I had read a similar story in the WSJ. LL's posts remind me of what those stories would look like: grammatically correct, bland, full of tangential, distracting information but no real insight, an encyclopedic knowledge but no real intelligence, a white-bread view of the world (location = "a great place for sport and friends").

When I accused her of cloning her bot self, she gave me a high-school insult (I'll never get laid) delivered with post-graduate prose. Too funny.

The whole thing is bizarre. I don't post much, but read a lot and she/he/it is remarkable for so many reasons.
How could someone log in and see a thread such as this and not reply?? A normal person would have some kind of reaction, surely?

I'm not quite sure what it is, but it's something weird. I'll keep reading though, too good not to.

Maybe he/she/it doesn't read this thread.

True. But he/she/it is starting to spread out into other forums outside the clinic to seem more human, so I'm going on the assumption that this is being read/processed or whatever.

Maybe if I use the magic words she will find her way here? Lance Armstrong.... :D

the problem is, he/she/it seems to be replicating

different names, so not so obvious, but the MO is there nonetheless. this may be flattering to CN that they're worth the bother, but...

Indeed. I hope they don't start responding to each other's posts. That could end in an endless do-loop of increasingly bizarre posts spiraling out of control.

It's Polish on Prozac......

from the quiver of awesomeness

is it true? i believe that polish will be free to return from his 3 month break
in a couple of weeks....................he will be happy to see that he was not fogotten

perhaps he will be less happy re lance's non fight

i am amazed to see how little respect appears to be shown for a fellow member in this thread

remember your talking about a person even if you think it's a 'bot'

Half the threads at Velonews' forum have a member's post saying that they have put Polish on ignore. It took little time at all for people there to figure out he was a troll.

It will be interesting when he shows up.
Will he be giddy? He can't be too happy over at velonews..:D
