Benotti I like your humor, but not sure why the allegation, and it doesn't speak well for you if you are not trying to be funny. Yes conspiracies are rife here, but me? I am almost honored.

Search for my posts on LL, although some of yesterday's ones have been deleted by Bala Verde. I suspect I wasn't far off the truth on her, and probably responsible at least in part for her demise here. I still don't think she is a bot, the technology is not as sophisticated yet to my knowledge - I posted some (now deleted) links on chatterbots technology yesterday. Bala Verde rightly observed they were off topic, should have been in this thread. But the reason I posted these was to "test" the bot theory, to which she very cleverly replied actually. My take is still that she is a very smart, intense but complicated lady who got personally caught up in the unfolding LA drama. Don't underestimate how many people have been sucked into this bulls**t and are quite prepared to spend hours a day on this forum/topic. But I don't have the IP address(es) from which she posts, nor her sign up details.

If you care to read my posts on LA I think my position is pretty clear also on him, as well as my position on UCI.

My motivation is a simple one, to try and be better informed and where possible do my little bit to help clean up this corrupt doping farce cycling has become under Lance/Hein/Pat. If you want to know more or have remaining doubts, PM me, happy to talk.

And maybe next time insert a smiley so I know you are "taking the p**s" (Auzzie slang for "joking"), and not "pulling my leg" ("having me on").

1) We all need to be a lot more vocal about reporting things;

2) Race Radio gave up too easily, I think, but hopefully he'll be back.

For some reason I assumed the mods knew about the outing of RR but, because of the way it was done, they were okay with it. It wasn't until today, when I took the time to really think about it, that I knew they couldn't be aware of it because, if they were, there's no way they'd be okay with it, no matter how it was done.

The history of this forum has been one of constant trolling to try to disrupt it. It's never been successful and it wasn't this time, either. This one just took a little longer to deal with than most, because he/she was a little more clever than they usually are.

EDIT: Or, to be fair, let's say the troll was successful in disrupting it. His/her success was short lived, however. It's up to us, the regular posters, to make sure the disruption isn't permanent like his/her ban.

Mate if you are the moderator here I apologize for having to tell you the truth but you have been asleep on the job. Many many posts on this in many many threads for well over a month now.

And regarding trolls in general and the forum being a target, which has been going on for some time also, apparently, there are plenty who are making suggestions on how to resolve. I have posted on this also, including making constructive suggestions for change several times. The impression I am getting is that this is simply not being picked up by you guys at all.

And half the reason RR walked was not because of the trolls, but because of you guys being asleep on the job, as I interpreted his posts on this. IMHO.

me.. it was brought it to my attention that ll had been up to no good so i investigated it and after some pms and information gathering i concluded this fellow was up to no good, so i have banned them for good.

Mods any chance creating a part of the forum, or separate thread(s) that allows posting by "qualified" posters only, you know who they are, and read access only by others. You have built a site which is contributing to the change in cycling we need, a place where one gets the critical questions asked and some real inside scoop. As well you have created a commercial asset. Please don't allow those with possible alterior motives or other plain idiots to ruin this for you and us.

Qualification can be by identity (you as admins knowing who the poster is and the identity qualifying the poster), or by post quality over time. I'm sure you can think of other criteria.

You may also consider more active moderation, the forum is one of your major assets, the community you have created. If one had Omerta ambitions your forum would be one of the first targets, ie clog it with heaps of ****. Easy to do, create lots of identities, some with ambiguous styles, and just drown out all the good threads over time...

Please find a better way.

in agreement. I am not not precious abut execution. But there needs to be an execution that keeps things focused - i suspect you will only get that by qualifying posters. The rest of the forum can still be used as is by all. If you have better suggestions post them.

sorry but a little naive. There are those posting here who have other objectives, ie to have this conversation broken up (I wonder why), and some that are simply stupid and/or need an off line social life

sorry for 3rd post in a row. Wanted to clarify the intent.

Suggestion is to only have a small part of the forum, a few threads, with VIP "post" and general public "read" access. If non-VIPs want to comment they can do so in general threads. VIP's can pick up comments from general threads and re-post these in theirs, or indeed post in general threads.

In the off line world you can also not partake in many VIP conversations... And by the way, I hate the selectivity of a "VIP" concept, but it's not the point.

And I would suggest we get over the "general everyone's forum" idealism. Most forums don't work because of the huge amount of **** on them. The clinic I suspect has been a fairly select hang out until recently, but it's now likely to be targeted (another conspiracy theory right!), certainly having an increase in readership/active posts (I suspect).

So do something rapidly or lose it. Suggestions welcomed, opinion only much less worthwhile...

voted maybe/other. There may be other (perhaps additional) options to reduce clutter and make for easier reading.

The question is how do you reduce noise and increase quality of postings. To better group posts by threads is only partly addressing this, but with the volume of topic developments and overlaps as well as an increase in posters it's going to be hard to execute.

And therefore I do remain of the opinion that it's at the poster level there needs to be better controls, not only postings. Providing a thread (or more) for the guys who we all know shape opinion here and have inside links/info, are connected, etc is one option. Better moderation another, but again hard to do.

Maybe can look also at how other forums resolve this issue; can't be unique to CN, must be some best practice out there, if not, maybe an opportunity to experiment here at the clinic.

well it is an interesting idea but not really one i would support as you said a vip only section is not my bag. but i will suggest it to them though

No need to apologize. You can't be everywhere all the time. If no one comes to you with something specific and substantive, I don't see how you can be expected to know about it, unless you just happen to come across it at random. For someone who (very generously) volunteers his time and energy for everyone's benefit, you do a fine job, IMO.

My last post on the lady in question you all love to hate.

If indeed this is who she is, I certainly believe so. And yes I do think she is misinterpreted by many folk here. If you do some homework on google you will see her posting on many cycling websites (eg Gerard Vroomen), keen to dig into Livestrong funding discrepancies, and certainly no longer a supporter of LA.


Please explain her lifetime ban, PM is fine. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater is never good.
