No startlists nowhere. :(

The US team includes with Lawson Craddock and Nathan Brown two promising TT talents, however I'm not sure whether they are doing the TT or just the road race.

For the road race a bit more is known. Argentina is coming with Maxi Richeze, Dani Diaz and Jorge Giacinti as team leaders, Laureano Rosas is in the U23 race. Venezuela seems to be having with Ubeto, Monsalve and Tomas Gil three Androni riders at the start. Byron Guama, Ragonessi, Navarrete, Bone are listed for Ecuador. Brazil with Magno Nazaret, Gregory Pinazo (winner of the race in 2011), Carlos Manarelli (supposed to ride for Zalf Fior in Italy later this year). Uruguay with Hector Aguilar, Richard Mascaranas and of course Jorge Soto. Bolivia with Oscar Soliz, Hector Gallardo. Costa Rica and Guatemala with pretty weak teams. No names known yet from Chile, Mexico, Cuba...

Here's the start list for the TT:

1 172 Limaylla Alexey PER 14:30:00
2 170 Vega Leison CRC 14:31:00
3 168 Ortega Efrain PUR 14:32:00
4 169 De Maar Marc AHO 14:33:00
5 159 Craddicj Gregiry USA 14:34:00
6 151 Nazaret Magno BRA 14:35:00
7 166 Presa Alan URU 14:36:00
8 157 Burman Wolfgang CHI 14:37:00
9 153 Linares Carlos VEN 14:38:00
10 161 Lopez Carlos MEX 14:39:00
11 156 Sepulveda Eduardo ARG 14:40:00
12 171 Vega Jose CRC 14:41:00
13 160 Brown Nathan USA 14:42:00

15 165 Soto Jorge URU 14:44:00
16 158 Palma Pedro CHI 14:45:00
17 154 Gil Tomas VEN 14:46:00
18 162 Rangel Hector MEX 14:47:00

So no Giacinti. De Maar could be in for a medal as well.

That's not very creative. I remember stumbling across a picture of Juan Pablo Suarez in a jersey that looked like the rainbow jersey of world champion. I was told it was a pan-american TT championship kit, but I've looked and see he's never won one before.

Here's the picture.

JP Suarez won three Panamerican Championship gold medals - in track events.

2010 1st points race
2011 1st individual pursuit
2011 1st team pursuit (with Edwin Avila, Arles Castro, Weimer Roldan)

I'd assume this would be for the pursuit. I was only looking at the Road and TT results and not the track. But it's weird given that his bike here has brakes.

I sent Suarez the picture through his Twitter account and he just said it was when he was pan-american champion. But he failed to say in which discipline.

nice race at home

just two things:

1) I met Pat McQuaid, asked him about the possibility of a PT race in South America and the answer was YES: almost confirmed. it's going to be a 5 day stage race in Colombia (feb 2013)

2) Marc de Maar is super-cute, i'm in love :p
