nice race at home

just two things:

1) I met Pat McQuaid, asked him about the possibility of a PT race in South America and the answer was YES: almost confirmed. it's going to be a 5 day stage race in Colombia (feb 2013)

That's phenomenal! Hopefully with that, I hope some of the races like Vuelta a Colombia, Vuelta a Venezuela, and Tachira get great exposure.

I just remembered as well that Oscar Sevilla will not be riding with Gobernacion de Antioquia for 2012. He'll be participating with a Mexican team in the upcoming Vuelta Mexico Telmex.

How many Richeze's are there?

They're four brothers.

Ariel Maximiliano and Mauro Abel both have contracts with Nippo CT for 2012. Maxi with an incredible schedule this year, as he already did Vuelta Chile, Tour de San Luis, GP Costa Etruschi, Giro Reggio-Calabria, Vuelta a Mendoza, Doble Chepes and the Panamericanos. That's already 35 race days in two and a half months!

Roberto Antonio and Adrian Ezequiel are the other two brothers, both raced for minor italian pro (Roberto) and amateur (Adrian) teams in recent years.

The father of the four was a big gun in the 70s/80s Argentinian racing scene and had won the Doble Bragado.

And I just read of some ancestor from the 1890s who rode races in Italy back then.

What a dynasty!

a picture says more than a thousand words! fantastic photo!

the u23 and elite race are the same. as you see the chilean guy olavarria sprinting to third. he won the u23 classification before the big ecuador guy on his right, cvarlos quishphe. both are amazing talents. 3rd was fabrizio von nacher. one of the many huge mexican talents of 1993 and 1994 that will be a huge factor in cycling in the coming years

u23 podium

I hope so.

they were very strong in track world championships as well and last yera jose alfredo aguirre as a first year junior was dominating the tour of austria for juniors in the mountains. only he lost a lot in itt but sitll finished top 5. and there are countless riders of 1993 and 1994 generation developping so well. in fact they are so special mexican federaiton have opted last yera to let them ride with elite and give them dispensation(?) as they are often stronger already than elite riders. they are all riders for the flat races though except aguirre perhaps, but even he comes from track, like his brothers

And EPM-UNE have also put up the races that they'll be taking part in in Spain.

Clasica de Primavera - April 8
Vuelta a Castilla y Leon - April 13-15
Vuelta a la Roja - April 22
Vuelta Asturias - April 28-30

Pretty much the same races they participated in last year.
