Porte, Stannard and Rowe closing in apparently

There already according to dimension data

Once SKY got control they we always gonna slow the pace down to allow all of the doms to come back. When we hit the next climb, we can only hope they all drop away again.

slowing down also means it will take longer for rivals to link up with their men in the break.

They have no control, everybody knows this. Just a moment of truce.

What are Rolland and Uran doing?
I understand Bardet and Purito want the mountains points at the top of the Col de la Croix de Fer.
There isnt a chance of this staying away.

They are at least trying to win stage. What else they should do? sit in peloton up to they will be dropped and tomorrow same? And then tour is over for them

Astana, Movistar and Tinkoff combined have five riders up the road. Sky have none. How are they in control?

You think Movistar are ready to work with others against sky? no signs of that so far, as long as Valverde can chase down Conti and Nibali Froome has an extra helper.

Whole team back together, gap getting that big that a Nibali or Contador will have to do some serious work on their own before even getting close to the break. Time to eat and drink. Sky has control again. Nice for Movistar to have 2 up ahead, but as long as the important 2 aren't and the gap grows and grows, there is no need to worry about those 2.

To protect Gesink's invaluable 6th place - although Bardet is no menace to him.

Then again, this means the pace stays high in the peloton, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Rowe, Stannard et al. will get dropped like stones on the slopes of the Glandon.

True, the likes of Stannard being on the front though give Poels, Konig and Thomas a bit more of a rest though. Lotto-Jumbo being on the front helps too.

This. The pathetic tactic of LJ is good for the race ;)
