When are u guys ever gonna realise that riders CANT attack from miles out on a climb and go clear. How is that ever gonna happen?? They would need to push about 50watts more than their rivals. Get real

even froome is only a human, if he will crack he do not need any watts more, just good day and bad day, but when they will not try they will not find it out

I might be mistaken but Andy Shleck?

Granted, they let him go, but he put one hell of an effort staying up there and winning the stage AND gaining minutes over cadel.

People give out about Sky, but Movistar has ruined this tour, Valverde should F off to another team if he wants to be a GC leader and won't do a bit of DOMing. In any case Quintana has been a joke...

What has ruined the GC spectacle is Froome being miles stronger than everyone else. Quintana has tried, but hasn't got close to dropping him. Valverde isn't strong enough on the hardest climbs to put in a meaningful attack, he is just trying to hang on. Even Contador now is trying to protect 4th/5th position, while 6th-10th have been doing the same throughout the last two weeks.

Froome's strength has made everyone re-assess their goals from the race.
Well said. Quintana has done his homework, turns out he simply isn't good enough. Contador turned up in aweful shape, overestimating either himself or underestimating the competition. Nibali has somehow *** up his preparation.

When everyone is completely inferior to the strongest rider with the strongest team and sound tactics, GC will be boring.

yes, but you could attack at least once in 3 weeks

Quintana has tried to attack on almost every mountain stage. Froome or one of his domestiques were on his wheel almost straight away though - they've correctly identified him as the only real threat and have shut him down immediately. No-one else - for various reasons - is anywhere near strong enough to seriously trouble Froome.

This. But in order to test the race leader and possibly win, you have to risk your own position in the race by testing your own limits, which they're obviously loathe to do. :(

Someone needs to attack, Majka looks like he is about to break and can't see Pouels having too much left in the tank

I can already hear the post Tour interview with Froome,

"Well in reality I was having very tough days in the Alps, and if the others had attacked me more, successively, I may have cracked. The team was on the edge the whole time. But thankfully my competitors stayed in wheel and we were able to mask my trouble."

Lot of negative posting....

Stage has been epic to me. Totally full on during the first two climbs, and Nibs riding brilliantly, Thomas blown to smithereens, and still time for some more serious cracking.
It has been good but the only two riders who pose a threat to the yellow jersey have done jack all. And Froome has only had 1 dom (who was dropped when the pace was super high) for most of the stage.

exactly, only few riders have will to attack even if it will cost you everything
Contador or Nibali are among those who have not fear to do it

Everyone of the top riders in this Tour has attacked multiple times
