Actually, I think it perfectly fine if you attack someone who has a mechanical caused by himself. Like Froome just now and Schleck those years ago. Armstrong was different, because that was an outside influence. And crashes are usually caused by others.

You forgot it's also okay for them to attack when a race is neutralized and to ride hard to make other riders crash.
