God, never trust Bertie, I thought I've learned this lesson. Contador and Quintana are most probably the ones who'll go for the win. And their form is in crescendo, so they'll both be stronger in the third week. Purito/Valverde to round up the podium. Froome isn't the kind of rider to have a bad day but get better later. If he has one bad day, he usually goes down even deeper.

I think Froome is a huge fighter look at the stage Valverde won he was dropping down the line alot and he did well. And then today he was on front as soon as Katusha put pace he slipped to the back and he only lost a little bit of time. His recovery on a stage is immense he goes in the red and then survives somehow. He need to take 1:30 out of the GC guys in the ITT that is the only way i think he can win La Vuelta.

Bravo Contador what a fighter you are, he as been rider of season, WT standings prove it he as not even finished a GT and he is top. Valverde yet again lol you can predict it with this guy every GT.

With the exception of the Vuelta he won.

btw Nairo looked like himself again today. :) still I dont think he should have attacked first after Alberto,Valverde might be upset about it,at least he only sucked murito then:D. but yeah,he looked very tranquilo:cool:

Froome's days as a GT contender are numbered. Another lesson would be never trust what Contador says. Quintana is learning from master Valverde the art of wheelsucking for success. Bring on the TT.

haha I would like to wait another Tour (assuming he can stay on his bike) to give a proper assessment. vuelta is not really a clear indication, bizarre things often happened here(Cobo, Horner...):D

I hope that Nairo and Contador (and Purito/Valverde) will ride the first part of the TT like it was the last. Full gas uphill and a lot of risk-taking downhill.

I don't think anybody ruled out Quintana after stage 6. Some, including myself, just pointed out that he was a bit disappointing. Froome was disappointing aswell today. I think the ITT will prove a better indicator of where he is. If he fails to gain significant time there, I would rule him out a bit.

Oh yes they did. ;) Some did.

The race is developing really nice.
Would be interesting to see Contador in the Red jersey already after the tt with this B Tinkoff team.
Can't see Froome making big gains after today's performance.
Movistar's team strength could be the decisive element of Quintana's chance.

How about this one? :)

Little cheer here for Barguil still in the top ten - particularly after his crash the other day :)

Really great stage - pleased for Winner (mainly 'cos I'm a big fan of nominative determinism). I sat shouting at the TV for Contador to attack the minute it was obvious Froome was struggling. I'm pretty surprised, though, that it's Froome who has been found out today rather than Contador.

I haven't seen today's stage but it makes me very happy to read about it here. I have Winner in my fantasy team and always thought he'd do well but this is great. I'm thrilled for Alberto, he's so deserving of what he has achieved so far at this Vuelta and I'm hoping it'll continue. Nothing much has changed, nobody has won or lost this race yet. There's far too much racing left.

 Please. It's completely normal.

IMO it's a thought that one might have that is better left as just that, a thought. Considering that Colombians like Anacona, Betancur, Uran along with previous prominent one's like Juan Muaricio Soler and Santiago Botero bear no resemblance to elves, I don't see the point of the post. In the future I will simply fight the temptation to acknowledge juvenile posts like that. My mistake.

I won't post further on it, but allow me to say that I don't see anything juvenile in it. You should not take things too literally. You writting ''Considering that Colombians like Anacona, Betancur, Uran along with previous prominent one's like Juan Muaricio Soler and Santiago Botero bear no resemblance to elves...'' tells me you clearly missed what was mostly a tongue in cheek or a humourous generalization.

Why the hell would his GT days be over?

(Not that I would have anything against it :)
